If they lose their last 2 and we win ours, we're in no matter what the Lions do. The Falcons have the Saints in NO next week then a division rival (Bucs) who have nothing to lose in week 17.

I think we still need the Bears to lose one as well. Yes, I know they will probably lose to the Packers, but we still need it to happen. I will be cheering for the 49ers tomorrow night, so that the Packers will need that game, cause if they don't they will rest guys.

Yep, the Bears still have to lose (or tie) one more in that scenario.

However, if BOTH the Falcons and Lions lose out (and we win out of course), then we're in: as #5 if Bears lose/tie once, as #6 if Bears win out. If EITHER, but not both, of DET/ATL lose out, then the Bears have to lose/tie once more. The Giants, Cowboys, Eagles, and Seahawks don't affect us in a 9-7 ARI scenario (NYG/ARI can't be the only teams at 9-7 for the final spot).

Another way to look at it is that we win every tie breaker at 9-7 except the Bears. (Only the Giants could beat us head to head, but if they win both, they win the division, so we wouldn't be against them in a wildcard tie break)

Good point. Hadn't thought of it that way. A 9-7 Giants team wouldn't even be in the mix as they wouldv'e clinched the NFC East regardless of what Dallas does next week. NYG still couldn't beat us in the guaranteed multi-team tie-breaker, but this point further renders them insignificant to us. Crazy how the NFC East fiasco has played out to become meaningless in the Cardinals' scenarios. On a side note, Philly actually needs very little help to win the division (win out, Jets beat Giants, Giants beat Cowboys).

GB secured 1st seed already and not going 16-0 after today's loss @ KC
so I doubt they will be motivated to beat Lions in their last game

so it's either Lions or Falcons have to lose their last 2 games. It's tough

A team with a crappy record like TB would/could never upset a team to knock them out of the playoffs. It would ruin their draft position. :D

The 49ers can still catch Green Bay. Of course, for this to still matter next week, they would have to beat Pittsburgh on Monday night. The Packers have yet to clinch home-field, but are likely to have done so by the Detroit game.

Yeah, bad teams never win late... I'm sure Minnesota remembers the 2003 Cardinals. I hope the Packers do as well (remember McCown to Poole?). Time to return the favor!

I was alluding to that Minnesota game. I remember the mixed reactions/feelings regarding the win. Totally worth it considering how little we had to celebrate then. Plus we still owed them for the preseason game where we loss several players to their crappy artificial turf with huge seams.

Honestly, I'm just happy we are back to .500 and not talking about who we're going to take with the #5 pick.

After our hideous start to the season littered with heartbreaking endings, I'm just glad we are where we are right now.

If we make the playoffs, cool. It's free to dream if you want, but the possible scenarios are causing me migraines. But had you of told me that after blowing the Ravens game along with Kolb getting injured that we'd be 7-7 going into week 16, I would have laughed in your face.

Just glad to have some confidence going into 2012
