Too many flash bulbs in his eyes from Dems. You cannot stop Dems---you can only hope to contain her!

You'll be thrilled to learn I have a list. :D

And I pointed them out to all the 20-something girls at training camp who were there to look at Fitz. :p I got thanked.

Really hard to come down on the guy when we literally have no o-line and no QB who can reliably create conditions where Housler can be targeted... I mean, have we had anyone connected with the passing game be of consequence or "impact" in preseason games?? Byrd perhaps... but of course, he's mainly be playing against guys who won't be on a roster come opening day...
That's how I see it - he hasn't had the opportunity to get enough quality reps; especially since he's mainly a Novacek-type role player on a team that hasn't been in very many situations this preseason to utilize that role.

Maybe, but they'll man up on him and roll the dice that he'll drop the ball, or that the QB won't be willing to give him the chance.

There's no personnel available that are going to take added attention away from Fitz. The structural idea of the defense from a personnel perspective ought to be (and likely is) to prevent the opposition from dedicating two defenders to either bracketing Fitz or going high-low on him. They'd like to see teams to go zone coverages primarily where the safety is shading to Fitz's side of the field, but isn't positioned directly over him.

We won the Philly game because the Eagles went to a Tampa-2 coverage and allowed Fitz to take over the game because he was single-covered much of the time.

Housler doesn't have any respect from defensive coordinators right now any more than our running game likely does. Until the other 10 players on the offense can show that they need to be accounted for, defenses are going to allow Fitz to get his 100 yards on 8 receptions and walk away perfectly happy.

And with a win.

I don't think it's Housler they don't respect I think its our QB's and OL. they simply don't think we can give the QB enough time and the QB can deliver the ball accurately so they're not worrying about anybody but Fitz.

Honest question, does Kemp even go to or watch the practices at all?

Never have I seen him at a training camp.
Yes Kemp does attend training camp.

bob kemp

oh noes
 :yeahthat:

The only thing Kemp really likes is the sound of his own voice; plus he has consistently been a Cardinal hater. So any chance he gets to talk down about the team or any aspect of it he will do so.

Just another local reporter that roots for teams from some other city...

Much ado about nothing; preseason tells nothing about how much a team will play a player.

William Powell is leading the NFL in rushing right now.

Yep, that's why I ultimately quit listening him to him when I did live in Phoenix. Plus he talks too much hockey for my liking; I care as much about Hockey as I do synchronized swimming (read: not at all).

Kemp is one of those know-it-alls, that constantly takes the easy and most likely right position on everything. You'd never see him pick a team to things around unless it was dreadfully apparent because he never goes out on a limb. Reminds me of what Hardy Brown said about a poster on this board.

Mods, can we delete this post? I've been outed.

BTW, if I took the position that was most likely to be right all the time...I'd be right a lot more!

:biglaugh:

Good stuff!

K9: I share your concern -- on both Housler and Roberts

I keep hearing coaches talk up Roberts and keep waiting to see what all the excitement is about, but thus far I haven't seen anything other than a run of the mill WR

On Housler, i want to see four or five games and see if he can make a difference before giving up.

Well written Shane...

It can be. He could just have so much going on in his head at this point with the more complex schemes, better players, QB's who put more mustard on the ball etc... He could be swimming right now mentally which most certainly could effect your catching ability if your not focused. Roberts is a prime example his rookie year. Yet it seems he has pretty nice hands now.

....this is how I feel......Housler reminds me of Breaston in terms of pace of development.....granted Housler was selected two rounds earlier and should be further along by now, but the upside is certainly still present.....way too early to give up on this kid....I bELieve...

Maybe you weren't listening to the correct show to begin with. Kemp hates talking about hockey; he believes that no one watches it.

This is pretty rich coming from a guy who five minutes before was taking a dump on a poster who likes to stand up for bottom-of-the-roster players. What's in your bonnet this week? Lots of calling out other posters/threads, very little actual football discussion. Maybe you should take some time off.

I disagree. I know his hands are in question, but this PS, I've seen him able to get deep down the seam and I'm expecting big things from him this year. If he doesn't have a good year I'll agree that he's a disappointment, but not yet.

My words are "Hugely disappointing," and I think that's true. For comparison's sake, last preseason Jimmy Graham (the guy that talking heads were comparing Housler to) had 7 receptions for 103 yards, and it was clear that he was going to be a player in this league. Maybe not Top 5 overall in receiving, but a player.

Kemp's POV is that Housler doesn't even look like he should make the roster based on what he saw in training camp. He will make the roster because the coaching staff and personnel department put a lot on the line for the kid, but Kemp was saying the same thing about Max Hall.

Housler has 7 catches for 83 yards in the preseason playing with Skelton, Kolb, Lindley and Bartel.

Graham played with Brees and some others and had the same number of catches for 20 more yards.

Not saying Housler is going to be Jimmy Graham but it's not like he's had the same opportunity Graham had given our QB and OL situation.

And he missed a game..

Disappointing training camp? He impressed the hell out of me while I was there and I recall at least 2 or three others saying how great he looked!
