Youre probably right we need a guy who boxes out when the coach tells them to. And maybe he will dunk if told to as well. I just think we need to go get some outside shooting in a bad way.

I wouldnt rely "outside shooting" from a rookie anyways.

I think for shooting, Suns need a vet atleast, and Giricek can still be signed.

Maybe inquire about JJ Reddick... maybe not.

But Diaw + filler for Hinrich would be IDEAL.

PG that are available in free agency suck.

I like the idea of trading for Heimlich.

Why didn't I think of it, of course, the Heimlich maneuver. :D

Just joking. It's been a bad night. I shouldn't have expected more from the Suns but they built expectations about this secret player they coveted... they were going to get early in the second round. With almost any GM but Kerr at the helm it seemed an achievable goal.

No issues with the pick, I don't think the Suns need anymore scorers, I don't really like the history on mid round big scorers anyways.

... Mareese Speights..

... Arthur.

I'd have been happier with either of these guys. Am happy the Sixers took Mareese. :)

actually kerr said he complements amare(plays defense), so I suspect its not about skills on offense. Speichts is supposed to be lazy, and he WOULDNT complement Diaw.

Yeah, that's the positive to this guy ... defense, which obviously the Suns need. I personally wish the Suns could've dealt Diaw for something, but oh well.

I wish Lopez all the best and hopes he works out well for the Suns.

IF (Big IF) Lopez manages to play well as our back up center, when Shaq goes out, we can keep Amare at PF and Diaw at SF where they play better. At least we won't have to shift Amare to center, and Diaw to PF which hurts us defensively. That's part of our problem on rotations last season, because D'Antoni was unwilling to rotate Shaq with Skinner, keeping our front line guys in their positions. I think that lead to some unnecessary Amare fouls, and him having less minutes in big games, imho. I think Lopez can help us just by keeping our front line in the proper positions. Now if he coould play a little PF when Amare has foul trouble alongside Shaq.... ;)

I guess in the big picture can Lopez take on the Skinner role next year? If at the very least we get that out of Lopez then that is something. If the guy can shoot FT at a decent percentage when teams go into hack a Shaq mode I guess that is a plus too. When we pulled Shaq out for Skinner they went to hack a Skinner which forced us into small ball.

There really was no player on the board at 15 that except D.Author (IMO) that was a impact player that was left. The Suns IMO had to move down in the draft. However, it appears they were content with Lopez. So, hopefully the Suns scouting department found another hidden gem in Lopez.

The Suns worked out Robin on his defense of the pick and roll, where he was very good. Considering that this has been a huge problem for the Suns in the inability to deal with the Spurs, I'd say that's awfully significant. As for bigs who can shoot, I'm curious to know if these guys are better than Marks.

That worked out great last time.

Hinrich makes $10 million next year. Ouch.

It would have to be Diaw for Hinrich. (The good news is the Hinrich's salary goes down after that).

Skinner became Hunter like on offense in the second part of the season.
Lopez wouldn't think of himself as a scorer like Skinner did, though probably encouraged by DA's system.

I would have liked to have Rush.

It would be interesting to know what the deal with the Blazers was supposed to include. It shounds like the Suns might have been going for Barbosa for the #13, which might turn out to have been worth it even through Rush is untested.

After seeing Rush's video on draft night, I am glad we didn't get him. Dude needed a lot of space to get his shot off in college. We needed a big more. In fact, I wouldn't have been sad to see the Suns draft two centers in the last draft. I am still not sure we will see our PG selection ever play for us despite the recent upbeat assessment by the Suns of getting him here.

My interest in Rush began with his ability to play defense and finish on the break. His ABILITY to catch and shoot threes at a high percentage would spread the floor without taking away defense. The threat is a big deal.

If offense was the primary goal, I think Lee will be a better offensive player than Rush, but as much help to the Suns.
