He almost cost the Cardinals the win. That drop on third down was HORRIBLE! You can't drop that pass.

Apparently you can, in both senses. As he did, and we still won. Why isn't Doucet doing what he does best and sitting injured on the bench?

Well, let's hope Roberts steps up so that we don't really need to care about whether or not you're correct.

Everybody drops a pass here and there. Doucet has had a nice year.

He is forgiven because he's been so good this year, but that was right in his breadbasket. Gotta catch that, dude

Yup. Doucet has done well this year, but, man, you gotta catch that.

A drop like that is unforgivable. You move on, move past it as a fan, and forget about it because we won, but you do not forgive such a drop in the clutch. The only thing that saved his bacon was the opponent's special teams coach convincing their HC to call that TO.

So you can move on, move past and forget, but not forgive? He dropped a pass; he didn't kill anyone.

We won. I'll let that drop go.

Of course he dropped it. He tried to catch it with his shoulder pads. You have to reach out and get it. Every time. A pro should know that. He got lazy and waited for it to come to him. He thought he could get away with it.

Doucet has been "so good" this year? he's on pace to get 688 yards and be a relative non-impact player. he's a guy, nothing more, nothing less and has to catch that pass.

he's at best a #3 and a mediocre one at best. same with Roberts.

Sadly, I agree. Getting a legit #2 is a definite for next year.

I was at the crib today (lid was open non Warner style), but Early and Roberts were getting open right around the time the pressure came in, while Fitz was covered and smothered, Waffle House style. I wasn't too impressed with some of Kolb's throws, but he tried to chill in the pocket. I really wish we had seen more of the 2 back set, but I aint complaining. The last game we found a way to get the Hyphen the ball while Beanie was doing his Paul Peirce, Hyphen loves him some open field Barry Sanders style, while PP rocks it Neon style.

Jeez some of you are fickle. 1 game and its " Andre is the Truth!" and "buh-bye Early" ? Are you serious?

Nothings changed. Andre is still on borrowed time until we find a legit #2 and Early has been our best WR all year. Guys proven himself to be the next Q of this team. He isnt afriad to go over the middle and he makes the plays nobody else wants to. Guys tough and has a ton of heart. Hes the slot guy on this team for the forseeable future. Depending on how many WRs we carry, Andre would be #4.

Seriously have a little appreciation for what Early has done for this team and dont crucify the guy for 1 drop. Also dont praise Andre for finally doing whats been expected of him this whole time.

I agree with this take on Doucet. Roberts might be no better but I would like him to move up in the depth chart above Doucet. He deserves that shot IMO.

Doucet has been money on 3rd down and while I was pissed, sometimes inexcusable drops happen. Definitely hope we keep early around to play in the slot, this years free agent WR class is stacked so we really need to find a #2 from that group.

he should have caught it but he also had some plays before this game. Robert did great in this game but had his screw ups in the other games. Both WRs still have not proven themselves with being consistent, whether it be getting open or the QB makng the effort to throw to them at fault. Let's not judge these players game to game and discount the games before :) If this team loses to the Niners again which they have done often, will we just flush down this win and say we just suck again and there is no hope? Just saying

I'm not saying buy bye to Early because of the 1 drop. I just think Roberts has more upside. Early has been more fragile, and just my gut feeling. Not good enough to be a number 2. I think our team has too many #3 and 4, and 5 guys.

I'd like to see them bring in a legit #2 guy.

I'd like to see Housler becme more of a target as well. After Kolb missed him in the 1st. Hit hit a couple of times later. I agree our offense is more suited for the run first 2 wr receiver and te sets. Not the 4-5 wr sets we enployed in the past.

ps sorry my typing skill are terrible and did this in the middle of the night, could not sleep.

Agreed! A "good" year is what Q and Steve Breaston were putting up. With all the coverages rolled to Fitz, the Cardinals #2 & #3 receivers should be dominant. Early Doucet is too injury-prone, too inconsistent, and just too easy to bring down short of first-downs in critical situations. He had a big TD a couple games ago, but I can't remember any other critical contributions, and does next to nothing on special teams.

Andre Roberts may turn into a decent #3 receiver. Cardinals still need a #2 IMO.
