Both intend to not hire an agent and it would surprise me if either leaves because of where I think they'll go. Shipp won't get drafted, he had a nice final game but he's not been 100% healthy all year coming off the hip injury, he's a 6'5" SF who's not quick enough to play NBA SG, and his outside shot isn't there yet.

I have no problem with either kid testing, I expected Collison to, little surprised Shipp is but he'd be crazy to leave.

Also, Nick Young's former HS coach has been interviewing agents for over a week now and the rumor is he's going to withdraw from school to prepare for the draft, he's a virtual lock to leave. Pruitt will test without an agent and unless he gets a first round guarantee, he's back.

They also have a somewhat interesting article about concerns that Randolph Morris may get other kids entering the draft early and going undrafted so they can go back to school and then be free agents after they mature. I think they're nuts, I don't think too many guys will do that but it would be interesting.

Shipp is no where ready to enter the NBA.

Even Collison is a little questionable. I think Collison may be testing the waters to find out from NBA teams what he needs to improve upon. He definitely needs to get stronger before he'll succeed at the NBA level.

As for the Morris situation, I have the feeling that the NCAA will do whatever they can to close that loophole. If I was a prospect in college and knew I wouldn't be drafted after my freshman year, I'd go ahead and declare, don't hire an agent, then go back to school and become a free agent. If I ever became good enough, then I could sign with any team I wanted.

I have no problem wtih kids testing it, I think it helps in many cases. The scary thing is one of them sticks in the draft but I don't think that will happen.

Collison is a terrific player but his release is still too slow, he's basically a set shooter. He dribbles too high, has to work on that, and he's not strong enough to finish in traffic against bigger players. Early in the year he was makign a lot of tear drops or floaters but he stopped taking that shot as the year went on.

Shipp has to show NBA scouts he can play SG because he's too small for an NBA PF, he's shot 28 and 32% in his 2 years at UCLA from 3. He is a nice slasher, great at stealing the ball in the passing lanes, a nice rebounder for his size, but he's not healthy yet(off his hip surgery) and I think testing the waters will quickly convince him he's not ready and he'll know exactly what
to work on.
