In another thread I noted that draftexpress reported that the Suns are interested in Rush. Someone made a comment that the Suns might end up trading up to get him, even though he's not generally projected to go that high.

None of the players ranked 1 through 9 by draftexpress are projected to drop to #15 by anybody. There are huge differences in expected rankings for the middle thid of the players, especially the taller guys like Jordon, Koufos, McGee, Arthur, and Green.

Rush is only one of several mid sized guys who have drawn interest including Alexander, Batum, and Budinger, Douglas Roberts is not getting much attention, but I expect he could rise in the mocks once he begins the workouts.

Starting with the draftexpress mock, I looked at how high and how low certain players are ranked by various mocks.

1 Beasley (about half have it Rose then Beasley)
2 Rose
3. Brook Lopez (as low as 5th)
4. Bayless
5. Love (as low as 13th)
6. Mayo (as high as 3rd and low as 7th)
7. Gordon (as high as 3rd and low as 12th)
8. Gallinari (as high as 5th and low as 12th)
9. Randolph (as high as 5th and low as 14th)
10. Jordon (as high as 5th and low as 17th)
11. Augustin (as high as 6th and low as 15th)
12. Westbrook (as high as 7th and low as 15th)
13. Alexander(as high as 8th and as low as 24th))
14. Koufos (as low as 29th)
15. Rush (as low as 27th)
16. Arthur (as high as 9th)
17. Batum (as as 7th and low as 20th)
18. Budinger (as high as 13th and as low as 28th)
19. McGee (as high as 10th and as low as 20th)
20. Donte Green (as high as 12th and as low as 22nd)
21. Speights (as high as 16th and as low as 28th)
22. Douglas Roberts (as high as 15th and as low as 26th)
23. Roy Hibbert (as high as 20th and as low as 32nd)
24. Alexis Ajinca (as high as 21st and as low as 26th)
25. Robin Lopez (as high as #16)
26. Lee (as low as 38th)
27. Lawson (as high as 24th and as low as 35th)
28 Tompson (as high as 19th)

This part is very interesting. Will be interesting how these projections will look after the summer camps.

Also, Budinger has the biggest range of placement out of any of the 1st rounders. I see that being a product of hype rather than a product of abilities, which just screams bust potential.

This is mainly a depth draft except for a few players. I'd be a bit twitchy if the Suns dropped lower than #20. The Suns might be able to draft from a good range of players if they hold tight at #15 and draft BPA.

If the Suns could pick up a future first and not drop that many slots, it could be worth the gamle if they're pretty sure they'll get someone they like. For example, nbadraft.net lists Rish at #25. It's tricky to execute, but you hate to do a reach if the guy is going to be available leter.

One of the other odd aspects of this draft is that it is strong enough that teams can actually focus on need and not just take the BPA.

Augustine may end up going very early due to so many teams needing PG's. One rumor has him going to Clips at #7.

Jordan is usually ranked in the #10 or #12 range, but could go much earlier because he's the best potential center in the top 18 to 20. The other bigs are projected as power forwards such as Koufos, Arthur, Magee, and Donte Green.

One report suggests that Robin Lopez may end up going in the lottery since he is viewed as center.
