I think Gurley will be gone before the Cards pick but RB Gordon may be there. I'm not sure if the Cards would take a RB on round 1.

If Gurley is there at 24, you take the playmaker and with Ellington to provide the change up... our running backs are set for the future

No RB in Round 1 IMO. Especially one with injury issues. Haven't we been down that road before?

He may be the next AP or he may be the next Beanie Wells. Not a gamble I would take, but I'm not BA or SK.

Plus what are his people going to say two weeks before the draft? Was this an independent Dr?

^ Combine recheck. Players who passed on aspects of the combine medical evaluations had the opportunity to go back to Indy to be put through the medical wringer.

It is an injury issue, not issues with Gurley and if one wants issues, look no further than Frank Gore and his college tenure. It is not as much about the injury with Gurley but rather if people really think he is special with the way teams are drafting the position late now. I think he is and some might not think so, and we all have valid reasons... the draft is the most exciting gamble in sports in my opinion lol

You could make that argument for any position. You could always draft a star or a bust no matter what position you pick.

I would have no issue with Gurley at 24 --

It's rare that you get a shot at a top 5 physical talent in the bottom third of the draft. Gurley has the potential to be a top 5 in the NFL at his position -- again, rare to get that shot at 24

Is there risk? Sure. But I would rather take a chance on an ACL recovering than, let's say, a guy like Gregory staying off weed after his first bonus check is cashed.

Lastly -- the last element I really like about Gurley is that by all accounts, the guy is super competitive-- runs with a chip on his shoulder.

He's on track meaning he can fully practice in about late Oct
Will be able to play late Dec.
No thanks!
Any RB (other than AP) with an ACL has never come back to full steam ahead.
Add to it name a rook that's missed all of OTAs and Training camp that's been worth a pint?
Then add to it giving the kid a ton of money while he's doing nothing...problem

I wouldn't touch Him till the 3rd round

Disagree? Answer the previous question with any NFL player at the RB spot...and I'm talking ever.

I'm not betting on a bet that has NEVER hit!
That's just stupid betting

Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, and Jamaal Lewis say hello.

And that's without doing research. I'm sure there are more.

EDIT: after looking it up, some other RB's you can add to the list include Jamaal Charles, Priest Holmes, Jamal Anderson, Terry Allen, Edge, and Garrison Hearst.

Jamaal Lewis, Jamaal Charles, and Jamal Anderson's mothers would like to say that if you like your sons' knees, don't name them Jamaal.

Respect with the reply....
I'd give the nod to Gore, but the rest never hit their former form after the surgery.

I'm betting a list of RBs that have never retuned to their former self is 50xs that list.

IMHO If I was GM I don't touch Girley until the 3rd

We can agree to disagree, but props on the response!

No point in arguing. He can't even spell Gurley correctly or spelling with an "i" to insult him which is even dumber.

Typing on my iPhone English teacher....so suck it

I can spell acl that was torn in Nov. and ill bet you $500 cash he doesn't play his first game of the season for any team until Late Oct.

Both send our money to someone who's been on this board forever and they hold it till the bet is complete. You game?

I'll even add he won't run for over 600 yards his rook season.

I'm willing to back up what I say with cash.

History of acls for RBs says I'll be right...but maybe I'm wrong this time.

We can see how 'dumb' I am as you stated.

If we can't bet cash on this board for some reason I'll bet you avatars for a year. I chose any pic I want for yours and vice versa for this board. Maybe it's by by far Albert and the gang.

You've been intentionally spelling his name wrong for weeks on here. Better hope he doesn't find out. Ha!

Jamal Lewis ran for over 2000 yards AFTER his surgery .

Look up what Priest Holmes did after his surgeries. IIRC he came out of Texas injured.

Garrison Hearst had 3 straight 1000 yard seasons for SF.

And, these injuries were all back in the days when ACL's injuries were much harder to return to form.
