I've been on the Quinn bandwagon for 3-4 months now after watching our terrible play from the edge. I like his hustle, play & ability but after watching more film on him one thing concerns me...he almost always is never the first guy off the snap of the ball, which shows a possible lack of explosion.

Quinn and Mallett are the two mega busts I want the Cards to stay as far away from as possible.

Although I am clearly concerned about the fact that he missed an entire season, I loved him coming into the season after watching him last year. I think he is, at worst. a pretty darn good OLB and we sure need one. On the other hand, Peterson at LSU is a sure thing in my book, and while the situation at corner is not one of extreme need, it definitely could be bolstered given DRC's odd and unpredictable behavior on the field and Toler's rawness. I think that one of these two guys will be on the board when we draft and we will probably be well served with one of them.

Von Miller would be a massive reach at 5. Frankly, I think that we have a pretty similar guy to Miller in Schofield.

Well no one ever touched Suggs since he lined up so wide and just ran around Left tackles, miserable ones at that. :)

And the only NFL tackles he played against were the mighty Kwame Harris and All World Jacob Rogers.

Lined up wide and ran around the blockers? What a horrible idea. I like the Cardinals plan much better. Line up tight, run right at the Offensive Tackles and spend the afternoon ballroom dancing with them while the opposing QB has a career day passing.

After watching tonight I agree 100%.

Speaking of O'Brien,
.....The January 23, 2010 East–West Shrine Game, in which he earned defensive MVP, was his last game. He recorded an interception on a Max Hall pass
:p

I like Quinn. In that video the thing that impressed me most was his pursuit. He made some nice tackles on the opposite side of the field.

He lined up wider than any pro rusher would dream of. A pro, solid LT would easily get into their stance any nullify nearly any rusher that tried the distance Suggs lined up in college.

Disagree. Defenses do it to the Cards all the time. It was especially evident when LD was playing Left Tackle and worked every time until Green finally started running quick slants with Arrington through the gap and the DCs had to move their guys back inside some.

I can go back and pick out numerous plays this season where the Defense had guys way outside and simply ran around Brown or Keith. It doesn't work every time but it works more often than having a 245lb guy run right into a 325lb Tackle.

The Cardinals draft poorly, and then they give up on good players they draft too soon.

There are two problems with drafting Quinn at five overall. One is he has not played for an entire season to see how good he would have been and two all that I have seen him do is be a down lineman. He was a very good RDE and he has a good burst to the QB and is a solid tackler. I think he would be better as RDE in a 4-3 than an outside linebacker in a 3-4. I just don't see him as the type of guy that would be good in coverage. He is a very good passrusher and he is strong with good size. Quinn and Von Miller are both guys I would like to see us get. but I would like to see us trade down to get them somewhere in the 10 to 20 pick range.

That is an adjustment that most rookies have to make coming from college to the pros. With Quinn, that would be more of a mental thing than a physical thing. Physically, he is definitely athletic enough to cover. He has very fluid hips and great speed and change of direction for a 6'5 270lb guy. Actually, quite often in 2009, he's covered the flat on quite a few occasions. Overall, I think he'd be an exceptional pick.
