Drake basketball won the Missouri Valley Conference championship, and now it’s time for the national tournament.
The Bulldogs – an 11 seed – will face No. 6 seed Missouri on Thursday in Wichita, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
This is the eighth NCAA Tournament appearance for Drake, with the Bulldogs last making it to March Madness in 2024. Under a different head coach and with a different team that year, Drake entered that tournament as a No. 10 seed, losing to Washington State in the first round.

The Bulldogs' best NCAA Tournament finish was third in 1969, beating North Carolina, 104-84, in the consolation game. Drake made Elite Eight appearances in 1970 and 1971, and the Bulldogs advanced to the Tournament in 2008, 2023 and 2024 but lost in the first round each of those times.

Drake also made it to the Tournament in 2021, beating Wichita State in the play-in before dropping another first-round matchup.
The Bulldogs enter the Tournament with a 30-3 overall record and a 17-3 record in conference play. Drake won its last seven games, and the Bulldogs have lost only one game since Jan. 5.
Missouri enters the tournament with a 22-11 overall record and a 10-8 record in the SEC.
