According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, the agent for Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin has said twice in the last eight days that Boldin would like to play for the Miami Dolphins.

The comments from agent Drew Rosenhaus came during guest spots on The Joe Rose Show, where we make a weekly pit-stop every Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. EDT.

On September 4, Rosenhaus acknowledged that he and Boldin have been pushing for a trade, and that Boldin would ”look nice in a Dolphin uniform, huh?”

On September 11, Rosenhaus said that “there’s a guy that [the Dolphins are] playing against that wouldn’t mind being in a Dolphins uniform in Anquan Boldin. . . . It’s a shame that he’ll be wearing a Cardinals uniform against the Dolphins, than the other way around.”

The Cardinals hold Boldin’s rights for three more seasons, through 2010. Boldin has said that he intends to fulfill his contract and then sign with a new team. The Cardinals have refused to trade him.

Other Rosenhaus clients have been reported as wanting the Fins as a destination too (Ocho Cinco definitely said as much during the offseason). I have to wonder, is the Miami Management promising to compensate Drew if he can get top-tier talent down there?

Something's rotten in the state of Florida

PS Boooo Q. Unless he plays well. Then yah Q. cardinal Q. Oh, I'm rambling again.

Good. I hope he has 200 yards and 3 touchdown to show them how good he could be for them.

If true...what Rosenhaus is saying is tampering.

Draft pick compensation is owed.

Rosenhaus started his career representing a lot of guys from the U and from Florida State, he may even be from the area himself IIRC.

I wonder what the NFL would say about an agent openly trying to steer several clients to the same team? I don't know if they care or not to be honest seems shady but might be perfectly within the rules.

As long as it's coming from DR's mouth and not Anquan's doesn't bother me.

He showed Sunday he'll still play the games.

Are we sure? I must admit I don't know much about the tampering rules.

Who cares? The team would be dumb to trade him. Keeping him for the next three years w/ his current deal could help push us over the top. You have got to have some underpaid guys to be successfull in this league. If he wants to bitch, then he may as well be that guy.

How would this be tampering? By the Dolphins? By an agent? I don't get it.

Rosenhaus has done this before and the 49ers were penalized.

NEW YORK (AP)—The San Francisco 49ers forfeited their fifth-round pick in next month’s NFL draft after commissioner Roger Goodell said they tampered with Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs.

In a statement released by the league Monday, Goodell also said the teams will switch picks in the third round of the April 26-27 draft. Chicago, which had the 12th pick, will get San Francisco’s seventh pick and the 49ers will get Chicago’s choice.

Goodell said the 49ers violated the NFL’s anti-tampering policy by contacting Briggs’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about his client during the 2007 season.

This isn't tampering. He hasn't said he has talked to Parcells or anyone else in the MIA organization.

if you read the link to the actual story it says in there that DR claims 3 teams offered first round picks at the draft this year and the Cards turned them all down.

I thought we were told recently something like 17 teams contacted us and "many" offers included first rounders? This article says 3 and it doesn't say included it says offered first rounders meaning that was the whole offer a first round pick for Boldin.

I just think something's going on--why else would all these great WRs suddenly want to go play in Miami? They complain about the team they are on doesn't want to commit to winning (Cards, Bengals), and then they want to go to a team with a great past but an awful present?

I don't know if it's against the rules, it's just clear Rosenhaus is the worst.

Come on Chad Pennington baby!

It does seem like he's trying to steer guys but remember, both Boldin and Ocho are from Florida so it may be as simple as Miami is more attractive to them than Tampa Bay or Jacksonville?

That and they know that Parcells isnt afraid to make a trade or two. And Miami's WR's are horrible.

It could be, but why not say it's because they want to play in their home state? Why say that the other clubs aren't committed to winning?

It would seem that your reasoning would garner more sympathy.

Both Chad and Q are from South Florida. Getting traded to the area you grew up in is probably attractive.

Drew can talk all he wants -- it isnt tampering.

The minute an NFL team executive talks to Drew about it without the Cardinals permission, its tampering.

Parcells will never give up the draft picks with so many holes to fill.

I, as well as many people who love the NFL, await the day that Rosenhaus breaks a rule and gets suspended like one of the Poston Brothers did a few years back.

Portland Oregon these days.
Could be the agent is in this solo. I can't see Q actually contemplating Miami over other teams. But it makes a great sound bite - when they're about to play us Sunday.

Now the Fins fans seem to think they can get Bolden [not my mistype] and for a conditional 2nd.

I explained that Boldin isn't available and if he were it would be for a lot more than that.
