I was listening to ESPN radio on my way to Safeway.... They said the D'backs have offered Drew more money than the #2 pick got last year and Scott Boras' people have said they liked the deal. I couldn't understand why Scott Boras was speaking for Drew, I thought I read he wasn't his agent

They also said they will announce something either way by Tuesday......

actually he wasnt even the best ss in the draft, that would be dustin pedroia formely of asu, if dustin was 4 inches taller he would have been the 1st player taken.now i know thats a stupid comment to make but baseball like the nfl a few inches in height can persuade the scouts big time.

Thing is Pedroia isnt projected to be anything huge,,, he'll be like a david eckstein, a solid starting SS, but nothing too special.


I actually thought Drew was the best postition player in the draft but, theres about four pitchers who i think are better prospects then him.

I said the exact thing on another board. Why do some think he is going to be a star? His size is a detriment. He definitely was not worth taking in the first round.

Wonder if Drew has an 8:00 class?

Not to perpetuate a discussion that only the next ten years will settle - but Pedroia and Drew have virtually identical OPS the last two years. Drew has more speed, Pedroia is more of a clubhouse leader - both had every possible award in and out of conference. Pedroia is doing great in single-A ball, and Drew ... Oh gosh, I forgot! he hasn't made it to the pros!! LOL
