What about this as an Idea? Trade a 3rd or 4th round pick or any combination of mid to late round picks to obtain Drew Henson, from everythng I've read he would have been the 1st pick in the draft ahead of David Carr and Joey Harrington, I would love to have him and take our 3rd pick and grab Sean Taylor or trade down and pick up some additional picks and grab Wilfork and a CB...

He has never signed a contract so he will be available in the draft.

I don't think so he did not sign a contract. The NFLPA says that if a player drafted does not sign a contract they re-enter the draft.

"Houston will hold Henson's rights for a year, and the Texans can trade his rights during that time. If he doesn't sign, he enters the draft pool one last time next year.

If he doesn't sign again, he would be an NFL free agent in 2005."

That's not true. If he hasn't signed a contract before the draft, then he goes back into the pool, and the Texans have no claim on him.

I had heard that Houston and the Steelers were working on a deal that would send Henson to Pittsburgh for a second round pick. That was the going rate, last I heard.

Of course, it also depends on whether or not he would come here, but I thought I'd read that the Yanks had moved him onto their 45-man roster, or something, and that he was still following his baseball dream.

Question...

Is Drew Henson just another Chad Hutchinson?

All Hype no Game?

The difference is Henson was actually a great QB his one year as the starter at Michigan, Hutchinson wasn't at Stanford he was just a very talented raw kid who sat out in Baseball.

The rumor is Henson has given up on baseball, they are negotiating his out from the Yankees, and that he's preparing himself for workouts either to teams who want to trade for him, or if he goes back into the draft.

I don't think we will try to get him but again Green did say he thought he was the best QB taken in LAST year's draft, ahead of Palmer and Leftwich.

I wonder if IMG represents Drew Henson? That's the group that handles Green's contract issues. I think the Cards should work out Henson (get permission from Texans) and if they like him try to trade for his rights prior to the draft.
