BTW, I met like 6 ASU fans tonight talking crap to UofA fans who have never attended Arizona State University. I find people who are fans of a college teams who never even went to the school to be the lamest of the lame. Get a life losers...

Seriously, this is an alumni, not a bandwagon... Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas fans are pretty big offenders from what I have encountered, but ASU? WTF?

Here in the CatBox it seem's that 70% of their fans have not attended AU.

As a neutral observer (well not really cause I'm not fond of UofA) and for whatever my opinion is worth, rushing the floor against an unranked team, even your hated rival, does show that ASU isn't accustomed to winning just yet.

You'll get to UofA when it becomes expected and normal and the shine comes off the brand new competing program.

Congrats ASU fans... I suggest you enjoy the past couple years while you can, as soon as Harden leaves you will be back to being the 2nd best team in the state year after year (I hope, haha).

That being said, cant argue with what the ASU basketball program has accomplished over the past couple years. Herb has been amazing in turning around that program and I think ASU has a good chance of making a long run in the NCAA tourney this year. As much as I hate losing to ASU, I do think it is good that the basketball series has become a rivalry again... for years many UofA fans wouldnt have even considered the ASU games to be "big games", compared to matchups against UCLA and Stanford.

In the history of organized basketball has a team ranked 14th rushed the court after almost choking away a 17 point lead against an unranked team?

After watching our (UofA) fans rush the field after beating a below average ASU football team earlier this year, Im not sure that we have any room to critisize the actions of fans following a game.

So I can't be an ASU fan because ASU didn't offer my major of choice (Film Production) at the time I graduated HS and I left state, even though I grew up watching and loving ASU had went to every football home game from 1993-2002? That seems like a pretty silly rule.

considering UofA has 0 recruits for next year right now, talking about the future isn't the best move....

The difference was that the Cats had lost to ASU three games in-a-row. ASU has beaten UofA 4 times in-a-row, and it isn't like this is a great UofA team either.

What was most disappointing to me was that it was another good PAC-10 game that no one east of the Mountain Time Zone saw. Why are these weekend games on so late? The game should have been played at 3 or 4 in the afternoon, so that it didn't end at midnight back East.

Hater. I can understand them storming the court just as much as I can understand a fan of the. Team that just lost would not like it.

Not too long ago asu fans didn't care enough (and half th crowd wanted uofa to win) now people day asu fans shouldn't care so much.... Great.

Why is it a silly rule? It's an alumni that you either belong to, or don't.... You can be a fan of who or whatever you want but it just seems rather silly to be a fan of a school that you have never attended. Being a college alumni is a representation that one has committed financially and personally to the school. Coming across another individual who shares the same passion, but never put in the same level of commitment is sort of a slap in the face. Attending 6 homes games a year and buying a few hot dogs is not the same as attending classes for 5 years and paying $45,000.

Wow. We escaped. Never thought I would see the day when ASU and UA would be evenly matched in hoops with very good teams. I just love it and hope UA makes the tournament along with ASU.

We've got to win at least one of the road games coming up.

I guess "slap in the face" is a little harsh. I guess I would liken it on the level of attending a high school but rooting for another high school's footballl team.... it's illogical

I can pretty much guarantee Arizona will have a comparable recruiting class (ASU's is currently 5th in the Pac-10) by the end of the summer. There's going to be a lot of currently unsigned players and players who got out of the LOI's who are going to want to play for our new coach with his resume and all the PT he has to offer. And considering both UA and ASU are going to struggle next year with their NBA defections talking about the future might not be the best idea for you either. And that's without mentioning ASU got nobody in their 2008 class.

As far as the game goes, UA just didn't get a couple breaks and ASU was unbelievable in the first half. They deserved the win so congratulations to the ASU fans.

Rushing the court was weak, but so again is the UA student section for rushing the field after beating a 5-7 ASU team in 2008, a 6-6 UCLA team in 2007, or a Mountain West team in a bowl game. Teams that have historically losers been generally create poor winners amongst their fanbase.

Be very glad we smoked ASU in football or living in the Phoenix metro area would be basically unbearable.

Feel free to cheer for whoever you want, it's just sports.

be a fan of whoever you want. I was born in Syracuse but attend ASU. If ASU and Syracuse have to play each other in the tourney i will be crushed (unless its in the finals :) )

What I think is a slap in the face is all the Arizona and ASU fans that rip on the Phoenix and Tucson areas respectively when there are very large amounts of Sun Devils and Wildcats in both metro areas. The 'Tucson/Mexico' jokes can also be somewhat offensive to Mexican-Americans as well.

no, he's calling out a guy who's a real fan for not being a fan because he attended a school that actually carried a major he wanted. THAT is messed up.

like who you want

my university didn't offer football - does that mean I can never root for a college football team, even though I like the product, it's publically broadcasted and is big business?

I also started watching college sports when I was very young - well before I knew where I wanted to go to school - so I should just flush all of that?!

also there are teams, schools, personalities that you like and don't like ..... i've never liked UA, in large part because of lute and a lot of the players that have gone through there - i honestly would of been happier if only alumni were exposed to it

also, when I move to a city I tend to adopt the local colleges - the professional market is too small and rivalries get a little more intense

however, with hundreds of colleges it's nice to support the locals and hope that they do well

you can't have the same level of understanding as an alumn - however, you can "pay your dues" just like a fan of any professional sport ...... let's face it, major college athletics is quasi professional as it is
