So a crazy old owner, the cheapest team in the NFL, and the Broncos who gave out a contract with zero signing bonus to a player who doesnt get paid a dime until he gets a game check, a deal the bulk of the in the NFL wouldnt sign without any sort of up front money involved.
Bailey got a deal that only gaurantee's he gets every single game check, he got zero up front money though.
That's all well and good, joe, but combined with the Jets during the season, the Eagles during the season, and a couple of other teams, you can't act like the Cards are being proactive with securing the services of their current players. As I said, I'm not mad, I'm disappointed.
A Lyle Sendlein contract extension isn't going to break the bank even if there's a 20% reduction in the salary cap in a new CBA. Why couldn't something have been done there?
I said it when we let Los and Rolle leave, and I said it when we signed Dockett in October: those moves only make sense combined with essentially no action in free agency if the Cards re-sign 2 players before the end of the league year. They can be forgiven if the Cards lock up their core.
Now? We're a week away from 3 of our starting 5 OL reaching free agency, our second-best WR reaching FA, and a whole bunch of other guys one year away from FA, including the best player on the team.
