He seems pretty full of himself and has said many times that he hates sequels. So I'm hoping that he's only doing this because it legitimately has a chance at being good.

He has plenty of money and is still fairly respected in the industry. So, I'm crossing my fingers.

This. They have attempted to throw a ton of money his way to do sequels and he has turned almost all of them down (except Ace and this). So, I don't think it's a matter of just throwing money at him either. Unless he has gone through his fortune I seriously doubt you can chalk this up for financial desperation. If anything it's desperation to stay relevant.

I have to agree that it could be the script that brought them both back. Jeff Daniels is doing just fine and coming off an Emmy. He didn't need this movie or the job for that matter. The fact they got both of them back might be a good sign. Honestly, I thought if anybody was not going to return it would be JD.

relevancy is what I think it driving this.

I only watched the first movie because Mike Starr is one of my favorite character actors. It's going to be a bit tough to bring his character back so I'd probably pass even if the trailer didn't stink.

Mike Starr has nothing to do with my enjoyment of the first movie although I do like him. He plays no factor in my decision or anybody else I know.

I wasn't suggesting he stole the show by any means. This type of comedy isn't usually my thing, had Starr not been in it I would have passed on it. Although, come to think of it, even if he were in this next one I'd probably pass. I can't think of too many similar style comedies that worked for me as a sequel.

I don't feel bad at all for you--you knew the kind of train wreck you were going to :)

funniest thing about this was I went just to clear my head because I have been going out of my mind working on a story for my show that has to do with a murder because of a needed kidney transplant and the scandal the transplant would bring to light... and then this ENTIRE movie revolved around a needed kidney transplant to save Harry's life.

it was a two hours dose of double misery.

I knew this would probably be bad but I was still hoping for something pretty close to the first. Ugh! I guess I will wait for this on Red Box.

That was one of my only laughs.

That said, I've heard that joke in movies or TV at least five times now and no one did it better then the Simpsons.

The acting was fine, but the script was horrible. I'm shocked this was the Farrelly brothers. I'm not sure what happened to these guys, but they've lost it.

That trailer was pretty underwhelming.

The first movie is probably in my top 10. I'm sure people think I'm nuts, but it's still one of my favorite comedies. But this has "cash grab" all over it IMO.

The only saving grace is that Carey fought making a sequel for sooo long. Perhaps he really liked the script and it will surprise us. (I don't see Carey as being desperate enough to make a sequel just to "revive" his career.)

Big gulps huh? Welp, see ya later!

No way! The original is definitely a top 10 comedy.

I watched this movie around a month ago. Yea, pretty bad. I am one that pretty much likes all types if comedies, but this one seemed like they tried way too hard for this story. Some funny parts, but mainly pretty bad
