DVD encoders

Suddenly my Sony Vaio is telling me that there are no DVD encoders on my Desktop.

Anybody know what might be going on? If I have to go get a new one any recommendations?

Are you encoding or decoding?

I'm guessing you're trying to play a DVD and it's not working, which would be a decoding issue. DVD decoders are usually preinstalled or come with your DVD drive. I don't think there are any free decoders.

Some DVD movies come with a decoder on the disk. You could go that route

It was decoders. Must have lost them last time the hard drive crashed.

Went ahead and got one from Nvidea.
