Surprised CAR-NYG or PIT-DEN didn't get flexed to SNF that Sunday.

By rule, I think teams can only have 5 prime time games (I don't know if TNF counts toward that or not).

If TNF counts, no more flexing for us.

I have also heard some teams can get a 6th flex in the final week of the season, but not all teams are eligible for that consideration. Anyone know the rule better than me?

This screams of NBC really wanting another AZ game, but they didn't want to travel west to do it.

me too, especially the PIT-DEN game

I bet Pit/Den was protected by CBS.

CAR/NYG just isn't as appealing right this minute with the G-MEN scuffling and the Eagles coming off a big win against the Pats. (They have to announce at least 12 days in advance)

Pretty surprised neither of those games got flexed either. Maybe the NFL is forcing NBC's hand so people get into the team that will eventually be in the Super Bowl!

I wonder if this means the Green Bay game won't be flexed. That to me is a bigger game and could be to see who gets the #2 seed and a bye.

To answer my own question, I don't see Fox letting the GB @ Arizona game be flexed. Fox has a double header that week and the only other game in the afternoon slot is St Louis at Seattle and Fox isn't going to have that be their national game.

So maybe NBC wanted the Cards one more time. Packers game is out if it is protected by FOX. Do they really want to have both AZ/SEA games (especially considering the rumor that it was the lowest rated SNF game this year)?

That leaves Philly.

The last game of the season with the Seahawks could still be flexed if that was the most meaningful game that week but I don't think it will be meaningful for either team.

There are three games next year that could very well end up being on Sunday night as well. The Patriots are coming here and we'll have road games at Carolina and the NFC North champ which will probably be Green Bay.

Well, we'll kick off the season at home with NBC broadcasting. We'll probably max out.
