Just heard Earl Watson being interviewed on the Wolf & Doug morning show. He is very impressive. I have no idea if his coaching philosophy is going to work in the NBA as it seems really good for college. He did get a positive turnaround from Markieff which certainly help trade him for what we got. Bottom line is I like him and hope he does well. He seems to be getting the most out of the Suns players.

He seems to be constantly trying to prove himself for the job. He's a name dropper at best. Maybe he'll be a decent coach for a college someday but I think his philosophies wont fly with most NBA players, especially the veterans. And as I said many times before. I believe kieff's turn around had nothing to do with EW but with Jeffs departure only.

I don't get the feeling that McD is going to keep him beyond this year. He says a lot of nice teamwork cliches but the Jesus stuff always creeps me out.

Not sure what his record will eventually be as a head coach, but man... every time I hear him speak, I am more and more impressed with him. It's s clear the impact John Wooden has had on Earl. Truly refreshing and I wish him the absolute best! Would LOVE to see the Suns turned around and have Earl at the helm!

On the show, Doug asks Earl what his first reaction was to the trading of Markeiff Morris. Earl's response; "I wanted to stay classy and professional."

Why wouldnt he be???? Apparently he doesnt agree with the Suns Decision. Not a good look for someone vying for a permanent position.

Wow... I didn't come away with that take at all. I thought Earl handled the question as well as anyone could've. He referred back to Wooden actually, and how Wooden instructed him on how to manage different personalities within the team. I actually thought it was a tremendous moment for Earl.

Your negativity about everything and here Watson, for no reason, is pretty annoying.

I am not sure how watson could have done a better job in the interview.

Here is the article about how Robert Sarver wanted Steve Nash to be our next permanent Head Coach. But Steve has declined.

I totally understand Steve's various reasons.

Even more, it is another example of Sarver surrounding himself with people inexperienced at their job, particularly the GM and Head Coaching jobs.

Read it again. It's an article about speculation that we might have been interested but that Steve isn't. And for all we know, even if there had been a conversation, Sarver and Nash might have had that discussion several times in the past. There really is no meat in that article, certainly not enough to applaud Sarver for considering Nash as the Head Coach nor is there enough to condemn him for doing so.

I wonder if he'd be willing to go back to being an assistant if the Suns brought in a more experienced Head Coach, with an agreement of some sort to groom him for the future. I can't think of any cases in the past where someone was named Interim Head Coach and then went back to being an Assistant that didn't involve Phil Jackson though.

I have a feeling that Nash (being a sports team owner himself) would not want an entry level position as an assistant coach. Only a guess. If Nash wanted the HC position I would give it to him.

I thought if Steve took a position with the Suns it would be Pres or GM. I dont think Steve wants to travel so much anymore and be away from his kids.

I have expressed these thoughts before.

I was referring if Nash were ever to consider a coaching position in the NBA.
