Forgive me for not having the article not posted here with this thread starter.I'm sure most of you will have read any article coming out of ARIZONA anyway.I've been just posting Newpaper articles all week out of N.Y. none of the good stuff from ARIZONA.

Doucet has'nt played a game yet this year and some of us wondered if he would ever play again for the CARDINALS.Well guess what? Heeee'sss Baack!!!

Coach Whiz says he's running very crisp routes and going up to get the ball unlike he's ever done in the past and its exciting to watch.Early had broken some ribs in pre-season and we've not heard about him since.

Personally I think he's the guy that was drafted to replace Boldin after next seasons contract runs out, since we can't pay 3 top WR's in Fitzgerald,Breaston & Boldin when Boldin is injured often due to his play style and is getting older and is asking for a Fitz type deal.I'm sure we can get Breaston for much, much less and have Urban and Doucet to go with the other two we can continue on into the future with Leinart when Kurt Warner steps down after next year.

I also think for this game we may activate Doucet and let Boldin play the first half or till he wants to come out and then we'll have a set of plays ready for Doucet to run when its his time to come into the game.

In the article I read about how well Doucet is doing Coach Whiz also said how we are gonna probably keep Ben Patrick in this week to help pass block and protect Kurt and that sounds great to me and he can also sneak out of the backfield if need be also.

After the jets&pats&eagles regular season games of last season this team isn't flying across country to get pounded from an angry giants team.We are coming to fight back and give it our best.Maybe the saints and coach Williams did a little work for us without knowing it.We've gotta have special teams,no turnovers and keep the penalties to a minimum. At least not 4 offensive lineman with one like last week.:DNO INJURIES PLEASE!!!And here's the Link below. The last part of the article is about Early's return.

I agree that ARZ needs to deal Anquan before the 2010 draft, preferably for a 1 & 3. We need help on the OL and OLB so having 2 #1's will help us in those areas. Right now Urban is a solid #3 and Breaston a great #2, there is a market for Anquan, so we should be able to get our asking price.

The Cards receiving talent is amazing. I bet a lot of teams wonder how did it get so deep. Now offensive line, give Warner some time, and let the receivers shine.

1) There wasn't a 1 and 3 out there for Q last season off-season, so why should there be this upcoming off-season?

2) We can't use adjectives like "great" and "solid" when it comes to Breaston and Urban in the two and three slots, as they've never played the positions for any extended time.

Personally I think the key to last week was how well we played early with 2 TE's. I think it completely caught Seattle off guard, and for the rest of the game they were dealing with how do we stop that formation which allowed us to be effective in other ways too.

If we have to go 4WR's much of the game against the Giants I'm concerned about how we protect Kurt. I think 4 WRs will be a factor, it always is a part of our offense, but I think Patrick returning makes the 2 TE set much more effective now and we'll start using it more as the season goes along.

I hope Anquan can play but if he can't we'll have to make do with who we have and one way to do that is use more 2 TE sets.

Doucet hasn't done a thing since we drafted the guy except drop balls. I really hope he's not Boldin's replacement.

Patience.Sometimes these things take time.Warner even made our other first rounder wr that could'nt do anything but drop balls catch quite a few and was able to hold his head up high before he moved on.The quarterback working with his recievers in a positive way and after practice can do wonders.

I know what I saw at LSU was'nt a mirage so I'll have to see it on an NFL field first also(maybe Sunday) before I believe it either.Yet I can see that the way they are built that the thought of (If everything went perfectly)that Doucet would make a great replacement for Boldin. We have this year and next to get him up to speed.

No One will ever truly replace Q.I understand that beyond what anyone says.Q brings more to this team than just receptions and the Ray Lewis type toughness that he speaks his mind with to all the players, because he knows he gives all of himself on that field everytime he plays.Just like playing hurt tomorrow night will also show to the team(I'M HERE).The team will need it and feed off of it.

That part CAN'T be replaced EVER!Receptions and yardage on the field is something I'll take though.Maybe a lil' more speed than we've seen lately out of Q being hurt.Lets see how durable Early can be also.So far he's not been good on ST's and he's not cracked the starting lineup.Yet on the practice field coach Whiz likes what he has seen.Since we are'nt there.I'll have to take his word for it.I like the word crisp when I hear about a route being run and going up for the ball is another good thing to hear.Maybe Early Doucet wants to be a Pro Football player for money afterall.:D

Are you saying he was "good" or "bad"?

I thought a very good draft pick off the College National Championship team.We have Highsmith off that team too.Neither have reached anywhere near where we would like them to be or how they played while in college.Highsmith I don't think was even drafted but picked up as a free agent by us.He's had his injuries too.

How do you know what was out there, mulitple GM's have gone on record saying the Cardinals never stated an asking price and seemed determined to keep Boldin rather than trade him. Of course teams probably tried to low ball but if a team doesn't tell you what they want then why set the bar so high, had ARZ came out and said we will trade Anquan for a 1st and 3rd rounder someone probably would have pulled the trigger, PHI and other teams picking in the late 1st round could have had interest but we'll never know.

As for using adjectives for Breaston, I recall Boldin being out three games and Breaston came in and played like a great #2, he finished with a 1000 yards last year despite not starting the full season.

I can be patient, but the guy has literally shown me nothing, not even in the preseason. He looks soft and catches the ball about as well as Bryant Johnson. I don't really care what he did (or didn't do) at LSU. There's plenty of great college players who don't produce in the big leagues.

My first sentence was actually a reference to Bryant Johnson who could'nt catch a cold till Warner worked with him for a season and he started catching the ball and was good enough that another team even wanted him and picked him up.I just think its funny that you missed my reference and then mentioned him yourself.I figured the reference to 1st round wr that could'nt catch was good enough.:DSurely Doucet will turn out better than that nightmare ended.

Is Johnson even in the NFL anymore? That the 49ers picked him up isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of Warner's efforts. Is Johnson even in the NFL anymore? I think even the WR-strapeed 49ers cut him? Prediction: Johnson and Doucett will be leading the UFL in receiving soon.

I've got to go with what coach Whiz is seeing in practice that WE are'nt seeing.I agree Johnson is out of the NFL but he was improved when Warner came here,I said he could'nt catch a cold.He did improve some.Just not enough to make THIS team anymore.

Especially not enough to be paid the amount he would have been owed.I just don't agree yet that Early Doucet is DONE or a BUST yet.

Not with a ringing endorsement from coach Whiz on crisp routes and how he is going after the ball in practice at full speed.I've got to see it for myself on the real field and maybe I will tomorrow night.Lets be a little more optomistist and you may be the winning spirit that puts us over the top tomorrow night New Mexico.

All is not negative for the CARDINALS of 2009.I see a very bright year ahead.:D

PHI had a lot of draft picks, in fact they gave up a lot to move up and take Jeremy Maclin, there were rumors they wanted Anquan to appease McNabb. CHI, MIA, NYJ & others had interest, if Roy Williams netted DET those picks, ARZ could have gotten the same, you can't tell me Jerry Jones is the only owner that overpays for talent. But to answer your question I don't know just like you don't know what offers were out there, we don't know what the Cardinals told teams that had interest.
