Like the pick of Early Doucet should be a nice replacment for BJ and he probally won't drop every clutch pass like BJ did. I just watched some highlights of him on youtube and man he is a sick wr after the catch going to be fun to watch :)

I really don't know how much clearer Rod Graves could have been yesterday when he emphatically said Boldin would NOT be traded and would be a Cardinal for the 2008 season. That won't stop ESPN, Adam Schefter, and some fans from thinking and speculating otherwise, but it is reality.

If Boldin is getting traded it'll be next offseason. Doucet will have a chance to show he is capable of being a starter in the NFL this season.

I like his name. Sounds like a calvary officer in the Civil War. With a name like that he will have to be good. Bye bye Boldin. We should get a #1 and #2 at least or better yet a good player plus a high draft pick.

Strangely the Cowboys got a B- on their draft. I thought they did better than that. They were highly criticized for passing on Mendenhall.

As in, Confederate General Jubal Early who was late for siege of Washington in "63.

I heard he would show up 10 minutes before team meetings just so the coaches would say, "You're early". Capitonyms make Early Doucet laugh!

All GM's lie. What GM in his right mind would say "We are trying to trade our star receiver"? If Boldin is angry now just how angry would he be then. I know nothing but have heard several of the TV people speculate on this. Sometimes where there is smoke there is fire. Dafting a WR only adds more smoke. I will be convinced if they extend him. If they do not I think it is rather a certainity he will leave when he can. Can we afford to tie up that much money in two WR named Fitz and Boldin? Some teams like NE slot each position by dollar amount which seems to have worked for them. I suspect Bodin and Fitz would cost more than any tow WR on any team once Boding gets the money he wants. It is not just about $$$ with Boldin. I think he wants to be the "man" on a team. He will never be the "man" with Fitz on this team.

Yes, you are right, if they don't extend him at some point he will leave.

It's not really about how much money Arizona is tieing up in the WR position IMO. It's about keeping your half-dozen core players intact. Anquan Boldin is a core player, along with Fitz, Adrian Wilson, and Karlos Dansby. Right now that is just about it. Not only is Anquan a core player, he's the spiritual leader of the offense, who is admired by his teammates and feared by opponents. Whis and Rod are well aware of his value to the franchise.

Management tried to address his contract situation last season. I am confident, he is on their radar.

Different receivers will be "the man" in different games. It all depends on the game plan and what opponents take away. Antrel Rolle was "the man" in the Cincinnati game.

If any "star" is traded it should be Fitz, not Boldin. Boldin is a leader in every sense of the word, Fitz is just an amazing talent but seems to have no leadership abilities. We need that Boldin type leadership on this team, especially now when we are about to "turn the corner"....

Well since Fitz has a no-trade clause in his contract, that ain't gonna happen.

Karlos Dansby isn't a leader either, but I still want him around because he is a pro-bowl caliber player just like Fitz.;)

Not having spent two seconds in the Cards dressing room, I've no idea who the true "leaders" are and I don't know how anyone else does. I'll take it that Q is one... but, certainly don't know that Fitz or Dansby aren't.

I should point out that a room full of leaders... is a room full of too many leaders... and not enough soldiers.

I can't believe nothing has been mentioned about The Early Bird getting the worm.

Im excited about this guy. He was the #1 WR prospect along with Cameron Colvin when they were coming out of high school. They were both rated higher than guys like Calvin Johnson.

It's a good thing Doucet wasn't a 1st round pick because Boldin would then be the third highest paid WR on the team :thud:.

That wouldnt be funny. Is also a prime example of why rookie salaries need to be done differently.

Timing is EVERYTHING

Anquan slips to the 2nd round = 2nd round money. Fitz is landed socres rookie contract, Q's play has been bigtime contract is redone. Fitz's contract is redone as only a rookie contract can require. Q in 08 has huge season contract redone.

A - He won't pull a Chad Johnson

B- If you don't know that Q isn't one of if not THE leader on this team then you aint been watchin.

C- He's all heart mf'er and the brass know it.

He's not going anywhere this year; I won't waste another second listening to this b.s.
