Sorry mine was joking too. School Daze is about racism within the black community itself(between light and dark skin) so it would make little sense at all to have whites, asians or latinos in it.

Now we need a feminist to complain that there's no women in the movie "the Thing" starring Kurt Russell, unless the alien creature is a woman and we didn't know.

:D
:eek:ops. :)

There were VERY FEW battle scenes in that movie. The whole movie was centered around the individuals who raised the flag. One of which was a minority(indian).

Spike Lee is a moron for even opening his trap. IMHO.

Right, but the movie was so horrible, I can only remember bits and pieces. Weren't they in Washington for a big part of the movie? What about in the stadium when they were reenacting the flag raising? Please tell me out of the thousands of extras, at least one of them was black. :)

HAHAHA! I would be willing to bet that there were. I highly doubt that when they put out an add for extras they had screeners out there telling all the blacks to go home. :D

Spike Lee has refused to back down from his criticism of Clint Eastwood for not including black soldiers in his two films about the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. Eastwood had responded that the film was about the men who raised the flag at Mt. Suribachi and that none of them was black. He advised Lee to "shut his face." In an interview with ABCNews.com, Lee said, "First of all, the man is not my father and we're not on a plantation either. ... And a comment like 'a guy like that should shut his face' -- come on Clint, come on. He sounds like an angry old man right there." Meanwhile, Thomas McPhatter, a black Marine sergeant who fought at Iwo Jima has told Britain's Guardian newspaper that he had provided the pipe that was used as the makeshift flagstaff for the flag hoisted by the men seen in the historic Iwo Jima photo.

I would play coy if I were Eastwood and point out the lack of caucasians in "Get on the Bus".

This PC crap kills me

Is Spike Lee going to just morph into Jessie Jackson when he dies or what?

That's an interesting turn of events.

An estimated 700-900 African Americans fough at Iwo Jima. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1812972,00.html

Approximately 70,000 American soliders fought there. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_American_soldiers_fought_on_iwo_jima

Between 1%-1.3% of the soldiers were Aftrican-American at Iwo Jima.

I agree with PCF. If anybody wants more info you can read about the Montford Point Marines.

His movies were about specific events. And before Spike wants to accuse anybody of being racist or bringing about the issue let's not forget that Ira Hayes (a Pima Indian) was featured prominently in the film.
