Why don't they teach players how to speak if they're going to have them speak to the media all the time? Sometimes they just sound silly to me....Akers... "I can't do nothing but keep playing." Iverson..."We're not playing with no heart. We're not playing with no pride." Is any and anything just not in a lot of players vocabulary? Basically they are saying yes when they mean no....

I don't think that's really ebonics as much as just poor English skills.

Here’s a lesson that I recently learned:

When you’re applying for jobs, don’t state on your resume that you made Magna Cum Laude. At some places, any e-mail containing the word “Cum” automatically gets deleted, unread.

I'm guessing the teams spend more time learning to understand what the coach is talking about than how to talk to the media.

Let's face it, fractured syntax is not necessarily a barrier to success. Look at George W :D

LOL. Seriously, who hasn't "cum laude" on occasion?

May be we need "Jerry Colengelo" to return back and learn us the difference of Ebonics or bad english.

I think it's more ebonics than even bad english. I bet lots of players no how to speak if they had too, then again maybe not? If it were on a multiple choice test I think they'd get it right :)

What are my four grammatical errors? :) I only have four words! That's hard to do :) I guess I should have capitalized my first word if I wanted it to be sentence and only put one period? The name isn't grammatically correct but I was just copying it :) Other than that I don't know...I need to go back to school, I wasn't even trying to be cool :(

I am by no means an expert since german is my first language but..

no how to speak? -> know how to speak

And I don't want to point out the grammar errors although I think I know which they are it would be too embarassing if I was wrong.

No/know and too/to were the only bad errors, but those could have been typos. "English" should always be capitalized (as should "ebonics"?). The second "sentence" is a run-on; there should be "but" between the comma and the "then." Ideally you'd have a comma after "test" in the last sentence, although comma rules are becoming more discretionary in certain cases these days.

But, SunCardfan gets extra credit for correctly using the subjunctive case ("If it were on a multiple choice test"). That makes up for at least a couple of minor errors, in my opinion.

It's about what you no and how you no you no what you no without noone not telling you you don't no what you no, you no?

i just showed someone this quote and we both almost peed our pants laughing! The other person asked me if it was an Alan Iverson quote. That set me off laughing right there! :D
