Yeah, eddie puzzles me, that he makes so many shots/minute and "cant shoot". Seriously, I thought that his 8 pts in the first half contributed heavily to the momentum while maintaining the lead. He also had 2 steals.

It's a little bit of the Quentin Richardson phenomenon, although of course Richardson is a much better player. Many posters on this board loved Richardson while he was here, but when push came to shove and he "went cold" for a key playoff series -- shooting, in fact, just as accurately as he had all season long; you can check the numbers -- suddenly his inconsistency wasn't so much fun anymore. And now no one can pass up a chance to talk about what an undisciplined bricklayer he was.

The difference, though, was that the Suns expected Q to score some points(at least, I dunno...one). I do think that D'Antoni is over-using House in "cold games"(partly now because of Barbosa's injury), but when he's on you keep him in and when he's not he should be playing fewer minutes.

Q was a starter house comes off the bench. he's a bargin at 1 mil for a shooter that we can put in and see if he's got the hot hand. with Q we didnt have that option.

I don't think House is like Q at all...he's a 6th-man type player, and he's always been a good scorer, his entire career. He's just now really getting a chance to showcase it.

The House/Diaw combination seems to be working when Nash is on the bench, which is cool. Looks like Coach D realized Diaw HAS TO BE OUT THERE when Steve sits.

House is a combo guard. Not a great point guard but okay, not a great 2 guard but okay.

He can shoot and can get hot and win a game or be cold and not help at all.
He is like Q because of his shooting. He is smaller than Q, will not rebound like Q, but will get more assists than Q.... :) :)

House brings energy to the game and that is very important in the suns running game.

I agree with your Q/ house assessment but the biggest difference of all between house and Q is about 40 million dollars over 5(?) years. Money that could be used to ensure good bench players, or possibly the resigning of Diaw or Barbosa when their value goes up. House also plays far fewer minutes that Q did, meaning that Diaw, Barbosa, Jones will play more minutes than if Q were here. I liked Q, but I think that the team can just have a whole bunch of big contracts with 4 more years left on them. I also think that with the loss of JJ we needed to acquire or develop(Barbosa) a dribble penetrator. Both Barbosa and Diaw need the time to develop, and if House plays less for it, good. With Q it would have been another story.

Now that's something I can agree with. I had mixed feelings about Richardson all season and supported the Thomas trade from the start, even though Thomas has only recently started playing well.

My point in bringing up Richardson wasn't to say that the Suns would be better with him than with House, only that they have a similar "gunner syndrome," and, apparently as a result, a similar power to befuddle this board.

House brings lights out offense when he comes onto the court for his ~15 minutes a game.

What he also brings is his lackluster defense and his proneability to turnovers. All that being said though I love House's role on the team right now. Very fitting for his his style of play and he can run the court with anyone and his jumper always seems like its going in. Great player off the bench and he blends well with the other talents on the team.

I used to get bashed all the time for complaining about Q last season. He would constantly have games of 1-9 shooting and luckily we had enough scoring from the rest of our top 6 guys to make up for it.

House is similar in that he can get hot or be very cold, but he's obviously not a guy that we have to have contributing every night like we expected Q to be. I like the House signing because he was cheap and can provide a spark at times, but he's a poor mans Tony Delk.
