Ever see a home team or home player use the boos as motivation?

"No, not at home," Laimbeer said. "It's very difficult to overcome.

"Eventually, a player will quit on that situation, because it's just not worth it, and go someplace else."

So what good does it do for fans to boo Curry?

"It doesn't do any good," Laimbeer said. "Unless they want him to get out of town."

Chicago Tribune: Arn Tellem, the agent for Eddy Curry and Jamal Crawford, met with Bulls general manager John Paxson and attended Tuesday's game. The informal meeting had been scheduled for weeks, but an incident from last Friday also came into discussion. A frustrated Paxson angrily challenged Curry and Crawford in the postgame locker room following a bad loss to Portland. Paxson later apologized to both players for losing his cool. Tellem will be negotiating contract extensions for both players at some point.

Maybe he needs a change of scenery? When you go to Bulls message boards they are losing patience.

I wouldn't mind having one of the top center prospects in the league on our roster who is not that far away from making a very good contribution.

It's hard to imagine what the Suns could offer in return. I would think at a minimum it would have to be their own pick for the 2004 draft, with no more than top-three protection.

Wasn't the pick they used on Curry part of the Brand trade?

Toward the end of last year, Curry was looking like he arrived!
This year he has not been playing as well, but he was hurt for a while.

This guy seems to have a lot of "potential" and would be worth trading for. However he would probably be high priced.

How about White and Clevelands pick :) :)
That might not do it.........?

If only Shawn Marion wasn't BYC. Since Zarko looks like a very good player and SF's usually are not that hard to replace anyway it would make sense.

Shawn Marion is like a god on all Chicago Bulls boards. Maybe because he is born in Illinois, I don't know.

I would not trade Shawn Marion for Eddie Curry.

Marion is one of the top 5 at his position and he STILL can get better. Not only that, he is a huge assett to the community.

Frankly we need to stop tinkering with this thing and let our players grow.

Lampe may be our center of the future and we still have one or two lottery picks as well.

Right now Peja, Anthony, Odom, Abdur-Rahim, Garnett, Nowitzki, AK47, Artest, Magette... all are better at Shawn's position.

I won't get into the tired argument of who is or is not a SF, but ...

I don't think Anthony is better than Marion. And probably not Odom or Maggette -- let's see if they can keep their current levels of play consistently for a while.

But I agree with you on the others, including the PFs on the list. :p

Garnett and Nowitzki are 4s.

Artest, Magette, and Abdur-Rahim are not the well rounded player that Marion is. They are beneath him in my opinion.

Anthony is on about the same level. Odom has recently stepped up his game...but that is because he moved to the 4.

Stojakovic is the only guy on that list I put above Marion clearly.

And irregardless...

None of those players would get traded for an underperforming Eddie Curry.

Currently curry is scheduled to make $3.9 million next year which jumps to $5.1 (team option) the following year. He is 6'11" 285. His offensive numbers are pretty good, 12.7 ppg on 48.1% and he has 6.2 rpg, which is OK but nothing special.

He might be reasonable "plan B" option (get players with shot contracts and make a push in 2005 if Kobe is not available) using some of the cap space and future picks.

I haven't seen enough of Curry to know if he is worth bothing with.

I've been thinking we might steal Dalembert from Philly but after their game against Dallas tonight that plan would probably be a lot harder to execute. With Coleman and Thomas out he played pretty much the whole game and got about 23 points, 16 boards and 3 blocks plus lots of bothered shots. Some of the points were the surprise factor - Dallas didn't guard him too strenuously, even for Dallas. You can't really tell from watching but he seemed like a straightforward, hard working kid. I'm not too high on Curry because he seems to be a motivational problem some of the time, which is probably exactly the reason he might be available... sort of like Kwame.

Lampe might work out - it sounds like he has the perfect game for a high post center and the size to defend down low. But at 18 you've got to figure he's at least four years away. The rate at which things change, by that time a high post center might not be a good fit. I sure hope the Suns keep him and bring him along but I'd like to see us snag a more mature high post center. Vlade might even work out... he doesn't play high post much for the Kings but he's very able. He'd make a good teacher for Lampe, too. In fact, he'd be a good guy to have around the whole team, which, as several people have mentioned, is rather lacking in basketball smarts. Another good point of this approach is that the team would be developing around the high post center style, setting the stage for Lampe's emergence. And an Amare, Zarko
& Shawn front court would fit well in that style though Z would probably be the PF rather than the C in this lineup.

I'm sorry, but I don't think there's much of the chance of Vlade Divac playing for the Suns. If he does leave the Kings I would think it would be to play for a team with a better shot at a championship. I don't see him leaving Sacramento to play on the worst team in the Western Conference.

Before we all started getting excited about Dalembert, remember that he did that against the Dallas Mavericks. They have a tendency to make decent, defensive minded, frontcourt players look like Bill Russell.

The 76ers are now 9-5 with Dalembert starting and Iverson hasn't played in all those games.

Dalembert averages 55%FG 8ppg 8rpg 2.4bpg in 27mpg as a starter

The Sixers extended Dalembert's contract to next year before this season. In any case, there's not much point in bidding against Philly for their own free agents (see: Thomas, Kenny).

The problem with Curry as I see it is that he's utterly convinced that he's a max player, regardless of how many times he gets his ass kicked on the court. If his team "lowballs" him, he's going to take that offer around to each of the other 29 teams, and if any of those teams is willing to beat that offer by $1, he'll go there instead.

So, if the Suns want him for anything less than $100m, they're better off letting him stay in Chicago (or wherever) until they give up on him and/or he hits free agency.

Curry for $100m worries me a great deal, since he doesn't seem to work hard now, when he's got plenty of financial incentive to prove himself.

If Divac wanted another shot at the championship, he wouldn't be retiring (i.e. leaving Sacramento) in the first place.

Vujanic is the only reason IMO that Divac would sign a contract with a different NBA team. Remember, Divac owns the team that developed Vujanic, so Milos' success obviously reflects well on Divac as an owner (which he's not planning to retire from any time soon).

That's why I think Divac would be willing to spend another year in the U.S.--to make sure Vujanic is settled in and primed for success in the NBA.

It IS bizzare how a player can sit on the bench and be ignored, yet produce good numbers when he plays. I get the feeling that team practices are not very helpful in evaluating what a guy can do.
