Durant is also falling after his poor tests.
If he is available at #24... I take him over Noah :sarcasm:

He could fall. Look at the PGs last year who were supposed to be lottery picks and fell. I would take him over a guy like Splitter any day of the week.

The guy Noah may most resemble is Beidrins who would never play on most teams.
I agree with this analogy but the last part of the sentence sounds like a weird joke.

Biedrins is only 21 and would start or be a key reserve on at least 2/3 of the teams, including the Suns.

I'm overstating it a bit, but Biedrins has the same kind of minimal offensive skills and is not expecially strong. What he does have is that he's very long and very mobile.

Biedrins started to show something late in Montgomery's era, but it was clear Mullen was not impressed since he kept drafting bigs.

1) He would be the only big in the late 1st round who could make an immediate impact on the defensive end (even if it is only for a few minutes).

I keep hearing people say that but I disagree. First off I see nothing in Noah to indicate he would be an impact player his first year. I see more of a guy that might get a few spotty minutes until he learns the game at the next level. That doesn't sound like impact to me.

I guess I wouldn't be totally against them picking him up if it was late in the 1st round but if they move up to grab him...like so many others I will be hugely disappointed.

Noah has one thing the Suns don't have. He's very long with excellent jumping ability.

The case for Noah is similar to that for Camby - shot blocking and rebounds. He's not the shooter Camby is, but having someone to block shots and rebound is no small deal.

The problem is I watched that guy in the tourney and was not impressed at all. Now translate that to the NBA and again am not sure he will be able to do either well in the NBA.

I've watched him in a bunch of games over the last two years and do not think he's a lottery guy. And there is certainly a chance there will be someone I really like at #24 I'd take first. But I still think he could be useful because he's a high energy guy with some defensive skills.

Sorry I am French and don't speak english so well. I don't say he will be "an impact player" in the full acceptance of those words. I just say he can have some impact on defense in limited time. If he was "an impact player" he would of course go top 5. All my comments was applying to #24 pick. For earlier draft position the debate is not the same.

Right now I see Noah serving a very similar role that Steven Hunter did with the Suns in the first year offensively. He can get score inside on teams when he is fed the ball when he flashes to the basket or on the break. Noah is bigger and stronger than Hunter and he has much more upside if he can improve his shooting. He will also be able to defend the low post, grab some rebounds and perhaps block or alter some shots. The big difference between Noah and a player like Hunter (or another role player) is that I see a huge upside especially playing in the Suns system.

Hunter had hands of stone and was a below average rebounder. Still, he made a constribution.

also unlike hunter noah can put the ball on the floor a little bit and is a pretty good passer. he's nowhere near the liability that hunter was offensively other than the fact that he can't really shoot.

There is no way Noah drops out of the teens, the guy is a good to excellent passer, plays hard nosed defense, can put the ball on the floor, and has an unbelievable work ethic and is 6'11. Sorry guys like that just don't drop far. He reminds me most of Varejo but with more skills. The guy is going to be a solid NBA player for alot of years. While I do not think he is a top three player, he is certainly a lottery pick.

Exactly. Often I wonder why fans only look at what a player can't do. I look at both, but I look at what a player can do first.
