That's kind of what I thought but the wording didn't sound right for some reason. Anyway, I think Edge's lack of long runs is a non-issue. Even in 2000 when he had 1,700+ yards he only had 1 30+ yard run. He's just not that type of runner. I think too many people are enamoured with certain rookie RB's and don't realize homerun type of RB's aren't a dime a dozen.
Out of all the RB's in the league, eight of them have 6+ runs of 20+ yards: Parker, Peterson, LT, Jones-Drew, Westbrook, Barber, Fargas, Grant. 40, or so, other RB's have 5 or less. Long runs aren't very common and aren't really a huge factor overall. The last couple of weeks, Edge has 4.6 and 4.8 ypc so I don't have a problem with him doing that without a 30 yard run. Overall, it's actually a sign of consistantly good running if he can get close to 5.0 ypc and not have a big run to pad the average.
