if the Cards don't want to do anything but throw I would want to leave as well.
The Cardinals have never "wanted" to abandon the run or pass exclusively, they have gravitated toward that with continued ineffectiveness of the running game. It's arguable whether the struggles were due primarily to the o-line or if Edge had some part in the matter when you consider what must have gone on behind closed doors as well as how very different and effective he looked after riding the pine for a while.

Edge making it clear that winning is secondary to how much he is featured and his decision to voice those opinions on the eve of a playoff game is exactly why Indy had no problem saying goodbye. I hope he plays angry and doesn't fumble the game away again but I will not be sorry to see him go. If he would have just shut up, played as hard as he could and accepted the 1-2 role that pretty much all NFL teams have now he'd have got another 1,000 yards and been able to leave and probably sucker some other team into giving him a decent contract. Hell, the Cards may have even been able to trade him for something.

This might actually not be a bad thimg....let him run his mouth that he is leaving (no big secret), all the other teams get one last look at him before he gets cut, he plays his a** off to show them he deserves another shot somewhere else.....we benefit from the "chip on his shoulder"

Edge is laying the groundwork for his impending disaster of an offseason.

No one will want him next season. Not one NFL team will give him a sniff.

And who's fault will it be? Not the over-30 slow-as-molasses running back. Nope. No way.

It will all be the Cards' fault. They underutilized and miscast Edge. It's all the Cards' fault...at least, according to the Edge.

This post contradicts itself. Is Edge laying the groundwork for an impending disaster of an offseason? Maybe. Are the Cards? No.

Edge didn't run like he has the last two weeks the first part of the season. He just didn't. That said, he's a man on fire right now. How is that the Cards' fault?

I say he'll get snatched up for a late round pick, which is about what he;s worth these days. No disrespect intended; I'd love to have him on the team next year. But he's gone, and if we don't get anything for him, I think that's okay, too. It's the right thing to do.

But I'll bet dollars to donuts (mostly because I value donuts more than most) that we have a first-day RB selection in the '09 draft.

Maybe someone here can explain to me why just about every running back we have used in the past few years has not been effective. Wasn't Thomas Jones here, Smith was here and now edge. Is it all the fault of the runningbacks? What I saw was very poor blocking by the O line.

Clearly Edge's mouth running ended up being no big deal at all. It looked to me like the line blocked well for him and he performed adequately. While he should be gone next season, we need to find a replacement and I still don't believe that man is on this roster.
