Eisley's contract

It's an awful contract, and was important when we were looking for cap space, but now that we're over the cap does it really matter that much? I'm sure the owners would love to stop paying him, but from a basketball standpoint it doesn't seem to make much of a difference anymore. At this point it's like an investment that will eventually mature into an asset(an expiring contract). Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like using a current asset to dump his contract doesn't make a lot of sense.

Edit: This is a tangental offshoot of elindholm's Jazz thread, but the idea was separated enough in my mind to start a new thread.

I was more interested in the trade exception, but in general I think you're right.

Edit: Actually, if they could move out Eisley, they'd be back under the cap, and then they could sign someone outright. Not that I know right now who that would be. Well heck, they could call Jerry West's bluff and make a big offer for Swift.

Is that right? Because he does have 3 year contract left - I was going to say what you said but I forgot he had 3rd year team option?
