Eli looks like a rookie out their.

That INT was a Cardinal-like moment with Jake; trying to make something happen with a bone-head throw.

Eli Manning is not yet a good QB. His 52% regular season completion % shows that. Its bound to be worse in the playoffs. Thats why I went and bet aginst the Giants today!

Yep, I'm enjoying watching Eli take a dump.

I was cheering at every mistake he made and flipping him off every time they showed him on the screen. My wife thought I was crazy, but I hate that guy ever since his pouty-mouthed smile at being drafted #1. I love Peyton and I think he will go down as the best QB ever if he can get a couple SB rings, but Eli, is a ***** made fothermucker. I hope he fails miserably in his career....

For the record, I wanted the Cards to draft Eli that year because I liked him, but he showed his true colors and now I can't stand him....

Eli looked like just what he is today. A second year QB. Some terrible decisions. Don't you know a lot of San Diego fans are laughing.

I think many of us are p----- off at Eli for snubbing the team that drafted him. I am. I still think the guy will continue to develop and be a very good QB. Even if he does not he has around 20 mil to play around with. He is only around 22 is he not? He was very much influenced by his father on snubbing San Diego and I am as pi--- off with him as with his son. I think player need to go with the team that drafts them. That is what makes the system work and parity. Remember the idiot we drafted (Kelly Stouffer) and he refused to sign with us. Glad he fell on his butt.

I'm never going to like that guy because of that low-rent B.S. on draftday. No matter how long or short his career I'll be pulling against him at every point. A John Elway for the new millenium. Except I hope his career doesn't go the way John's does. But I hated Elway every step of the journey for that same low-rent BS in Baltimore.

RedHeart,

Jake is and always has been better than Eli Manning. It should be obvious to everyone that Jakes play became erratic due to poor decisions by the Cards. They ruined the o-line when they refused to pay Lomas Brown what he deserved. They drafted poorly. They hired coaches on the cheap. Coaches tried to make him into something he isn't, a pocket passer.

Now that Jake is in a system that plays to his strengths, he's in the playoffs every year. He has a legitimate shot at making it to the SuperBowl. The Broncos are showing us that it was the Cards that were the problem. One thing about Jake is that he has always been a competitor. Unfortunately, as bad as the Cards were managed, coached and staffed, he tried to do too much and that's what got him into trouble. I would love to have him now that we have Boldin and Fitz. The Cards would still need to establish a running game to take full advantage of his skills.

Disagree. Jake was and is prone to huge mistakes and tons of picks. Denver has just restricted his game so much that he throws a lot less and has been trained not to be an idiot when improvising. Watch the playoffs and watch how he is being used.

Listening to local NYC news and opening today's sport sections was a beautiful thing.

Ironically, what happened to the Giants vis a vis Carolina was similar to what happened to us in our season opener against the Giants.

Namely matchups.

Physically, Carolina and the Giants are clones; except that Carolina was slightly tougher on both sides of the ball - (a) the Pantera O-line outhit the Giant Front 7, (b) Carolina had the more experienced QB, (c) Tiki Barber couldn't break anything long and (d) the Giants were in a double-bind, because didn't have enough talent in their secondary to both handle Smith and bring the 8th guy up to stop the run. As the Giants fell behind, Manning must have felt forced to take bigger chances than he should have.

While there are other teams who can beat the Giants on any given day, there are only a small number of teams able to push around the Giants matchup-wise (incl. Carolina, the Steelers, maybe the Pats).

One other thing that finished off the Giants (just as it did us in a bunch of games) was sloppy one on one tackling. (How many tackles did Foster and Goings break yesterday)?

I'd just like to point out that the safety that picked him twice, Marlon Mcree, is the FA I was suggesting a few weeks ago. Mcree is really a FS but he played SS this year because Thomas Davis wasn't ready to play there and they already had Minter at FS.

Not a great player but a good player, same kid had 2 picks against us this year in a game.

Seemed to me Manning was just suckered a few times by the coverages. What was interesting is the Giants players are sort of subtly blaming the coaching staff saying that it was as if Carolina knew the plays. Barber came right out and said it's like they were in our huddle. Burress was shut out and said everytime he saw single coverage, the Giants called a run play. Which sounds both like a coaching complaint and a subtle jab at Eli for not audibling more.

Will be interesting to see Jake against New England in the playoffs they seem to be the hot team all of a sudden, I'm sure Denver would rather have played Cincy or Pittsburgh.

Cughlin has never been a player favorite. They get their teeth kicked in and the players turned on him. That's funny. I doubt "poor coaching" led to 200+ yards rushing against. I saw one sharp team and one team that seemed asleep. Can't say that I saw too many play calls where Fox outsmarted coughlin.

To me Burress seemed to dog it on some routes. You are paid what he is paid, you should do a back flip when you see single coverage, but be good enough to accidentally beat double. Did he even have any catches?
