The start of Notre Dame football’s spring practice has brought some high profile recruits to campus, and one of them, Pennsylvania safety Joey O’Brien, had a great recent trip to South Bend.

It was so good that On3’s Steve Wiltfong has made a prediction that the country’s No. 91 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings will ultimately commit to the Irish. While O’Brien is ranked as an athlete, Notre Dame is looking to add him as a member of its secondary, either as a cornerback or safety.

At 6-foot, 3-inches and 185-pounds, he fits the mold that the Irish are looking for at both positions, which leads me to believe that they will find out which position he ends up at if Wiltfong is correct and he ends up at Notre Dame.

Hopefully he is right, as O’Brien is one of the best players nationally, and would look great in the Blue and Gold.
