IF we get the #1 pick its Ayton or bust. Weve never had an impact center since ive been following the Suns in 87. Now is the time..finally.
For somebody reason jjj worries me the most.I've been thinking about that one and I believe the consensus pick would be Jaren Jackson. I don't know how we could go with anyone else. He's a talented big that doesn't have a back problem like Porter.
If all that I’ve read about this class is true there will be an All Star available at #4. That doesn’t insure that the Suns will take him but he will be available.I don't get all the "woe is we" stuff. I know we've had an absence of good luck but all the gnashing of teeth seems extreme. It's not like we've had a hundred to one shot jump up to screw us out of something. Our bad luck injuries bother me far more than the almost predictable lottery results we've seen over the years.
He played on a stacked team and was asked to protect the rim aggressively. For somebody reason jjj worries me the most.
In the mix:
Bamba (is he mutumbo or thabeet?)
Porter (is he Durant-lite or cheesebeef-Bad back)
Young (he’s sliding - is 4 too high and could we trade down a bit and end up with young and a big?)
Jjj (seems unicornish but so nervous about lack of playtime this season)
I'd probably go Bamba, though I'm open to Young and Jackson. Porter is too big a risk imho. I'm at the point where I really want one of those top 3 though, so 4 would feel like a real disappointment.
Don’t believe they have.Have the Suns ever had the worst record before?

Well that’s a nice achievement to mark the passing of the 50th anniversary.Don’t believe they have.
Has anyone posted a line item comparison of the three of them? That might help ease my concerns. For some reason I WANT to want him but I’m hesitant. He played on a stacked team and was asked to protect the rim aggressively.
We have seen this before with a couple other top big man prospects in Towns and Embiid.
All three only played about 21 minutes per game in college and all had nearly identical stat lines overall.
Obviously this is not proof that he will be the pro that those two have been, but it should show that looking at foul rate or playing time as a reason to pass may be a flawed approach.
2007 was pretty close to that. Portland goes from 7th slot to pick first, Seattle grabs 2nd from 5th slot, TWolves fall to 4th from first slot (hello), allowing Hawks to grab 3rd pick, screwing us out of the JJ trade asset that could/should have been Al Horford or another impact player. Instead, we trade JJ for Robin Lopez (pick (15th) from ATL in conveys in 2008). That whole draft was a kick in the shorts!I don't get all the "woe is we" stuff. Once in their first season. That was the coin flip year even though Phoenix had a worse record than Milwaukee.
we had a worse record that year? what was the reason for the coin flip?
last year we had the second worst record and ended up out of the lottery.
we lost the coin flip for both Robinson and Kareem. Those count in my bad luck getting screwed in the draft history.
87’ wasn’t a coin flip but they did miss The Admiral by one pot. Suns actually moved up from 7 —> 2 and the Spurs moved from 4 —> 1
The lottery system (twice) basically created 30+ years of Spurs success.
This is too easy, at #4 you take Bamba... and be glad you avoided the temptations at 1, 2, and 3.
Why the presumption that we would get the 4th pick? Because its the Suns, and we always get the thick, unlubed shafteroo at the draft lottery?

Are you saying you have Bamba as the best player in the draft?
I have mixed feelings on him but I wouldn't be shocked (just mildly surprised) if he had a better career than everyone's favorite, DeAndre Ayton.
