I HOPE that Shipp keeps the job, and Emmit goes on to "coach".

I say use Smith in short yardage situations ala Marcus Allen in KC a few years back.

Peace

And NO...... he is not here to pad his stats. WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE COME HERE to pad his stats? If he wanted to pad his stats he could have gone to plenty of other places.

Well the OC tried to do it already!

Depends, I'd rather have a guy be honest and say I'm not healthy start so and so than lie and say I can play and then lead the NFL in interceptions by a mile and then spend the whole offseason saying it's not an excuse but I was never healthy last year. But I digress (-:

If Mac benches Shipp for Smith I'll be furious and yes I'll blame Smith too because unless Shipp plays horribly until that point there's just no justification. My guess is as others have said(like KOC) I suspect that somehow they'll find a way to keep Smith out in a dignified manner so they avoid the controversy and keep the best guys out there.

I mean Anderson never saw the field before and he looked GREAT out there too, Emmitt had a great career it's time to step aside for Shipp and Anderson.

What's funny is there's a very knowledgeable Denver fan who right now on the Freak board is complaining about the injury prone starting QB. Says if he comes back and gets hurt again, they should make let him leave and sign a younger more durable QB.

Who would've figured if you put a skinny QB in a system where he's outside the protection of a pocket over and over, that he'd get hit more and be subject to injury? Can't say as I see it fair to blame the player for that.

So he'll come back quickly because he's convinced the team needs him, if he plays well he's a hero, if he struggles hey he was playing injured. Either way the coach gets off without blame and starts with a clean slate next year.
