All we have heard is the Cards linked to Veldheer. Are there any reports of them contacting anyone else? They certainly could use more than Veldheer to augment their roster.

Albert is still in the mix, according to Jurecki, but Veldheer is the more realistic option plus relationship with CP

Other than the tackles and a couple of other high profile FA's, it's actually been fairly quiet for everyone. Doesn't mean that there isn't anything happening though.

Nope, I'm pretty sure that is all they are going to add. :)

I imagine they have contacted some DBs by now. I heard Mike Neal somewhere else but that is old info. I imagine they let the ILB market play out as well as the RB market. They have added a TE and the rest of the TE FA class sucks. QB...nope. Wr...probably not. Unsure about RT and OLB, though OLB seems to offer redundant skill sets even is they are better.

My darkhorse is DE Alex Carrington, but we will see.

And what else are we going to talk about? It's march

I really don't know why people are so angry about bringing in Veldheer. In 2012 he rated out much higher than Albert. Got hurt in 2013 came back pretty fast from an injury guys don't really come back fast from played the last 5 games and played well. He's only 27 with a ton of upside.

Well why didn't the raiders franchise him? That's a red flag plus if rather have Monroe... Uh why didn't the ravens franchise Monroe?

Brandon Albert is 30 has never played a full season in his career. Albert is so great at LT KS took Eric Fischer in the draft last year. If you got a dominate LT why would you draft one that high. Albert has made one pro bowl his entire career in a contract year hmmm.

2012 well go 2012 since it was Veldheer's last full season
PFF grades

Veldheer + 22.2
Monroe + 21.0
Albert + 13.8

Is it because Albert is a bigger name to some? Cause make no mistake when both these guys are healthy (and yes Albert has missed his share of games) Veldheer is a much better player.

Well why would he sign for less money that's clearly a red flag, well when your team sucks like the dolphins and raiders do then you have to over pay to get guys to go there we did it for years here in Arizona. Ever think he doesn't want to play for the raiders?

Keim has always talked about week 2 of free agency

he is going after a top tier guy -- Veldheer

but after that -- its going to be crickets for the week.

then after the wave of big money guys clear, then i suspect we will start hearing names

Well, a matter of fact BASK has contacted me and I'm gonna slug it out with Lindley for the 3rd QB spot (I hope this does not make me guilty of tampering)... no need to worry about drafting a QB this year lol

Jurecki just tweeted that the Cards also have interest in CB Mike Jenkins.

If Dansby leaves I bet they are going to take that 10-12 per and bring in another big time piece.

Monroe is the man we should go after, and the Ravens know this. Dude only missed like 5 games in like forever.

Dayum, would there be that much cap room left if Veldheer's first year salary is 7-8M? This defense would be stupid good with Byrd playing safety. STUPID GOOD.

Some project the cap at 20 million.... so yeah. Its possible. Not likely but possible.

no chance, cause the guy has off field issue
Another warning and he ll be suspended for a year

Crap. You're right. I had forgotten about that, which is odd since almost all of the Seattle secondary does.

I haven't seen anywhere were people are angry about brining Veldheer aboard. He's not my 1st choice but I'm not mad about him being signed.

Also, OL stats are mostly garbage. Albert and Monroe are both better players than Veldheer and will paid accordingly so.

As for Fisher, teams draft younger, cheaper alternatives all the time. Jax did the same thing last year with Joeckle and Monroe. The Cards may do it with Dockett this year.

If he gets released, I would like the Cardinals to kick the tires on Demarcus Ware. I have no clue what his price tag would be, but he would be a solid addition to our pass rush.
