Listen, I like(d) Dragic for his demeanor on and off the court, as well as his hustle and "heart", regardless of top-shelf or bottom-rung skills.
But, for the love of all that is Holy, can we PLEASE stop bringing up Dragic on this board, unless it is an OT thread about Dragic? The sniping back and forth is ridiculous.

You're evaluating a Point Guard on the basis of how good a scorer he is?

That's the problem with McDonough and Hornacek. Individual stats over making the rest of the team cohesive.

If you don't evaluate him on his scoring he looks even worse. Goran as a distributor or even running a half court offense is really average.

He made his mark last year scoring and as a one man fast break.

Well... I know this is asking A LOT from you, but please go back to page one and tell me who brought up Dragic.

I think it's trolling that all his haters bring him up first to trash him and then try to accuse everyone else as if others can't keep talking about him. Like seriously, there's a Dragic thread still on here, why can't his haters and lovers both keep discussion about him to that thread?

I'm evaluating him as an ALL-NBA player PERIOD. Because if I was evaulating him based on how good of a PG he is, all I'd have to do is point to the paltry 5.5 assists per game he's averaging. And then I'd probably rank him in the exact same place that article did... which was 12TH in the league.

and i'm not sure how you can ignore that in the last three years, when Dragic has been the "PG" alone on his teams (sans Bledsoe for forty games last), his teams were a putrid 56-84. Sorry, but that record doesn't scream cohesion from PG skills to me any more then 5.5 assists do.

reality... he's not an elite PG. He's not even an elite SG. He's a very good combo guard. How people can keep debating this when he doesn't distribute at a high level or build this "team cohesiveness" that leads to Ws is beyond me.
Why do you have such a problem with people referring to Dragic as an All NBA player? That's what he is. He was third team All NBA last season.

People refer to Durant as MVP....because even though he may not have done anything this season he's still the reigning MVP. Dragic is a reigning All NBA player. When Mo Williams was nominated an All Star in Cleveland, Cavs fans referred him as an All Star for the next year or two because....that's what he was.

If Bledsoe got All NBA or All Defense or whatever, fans would refer to him the same way. Same with any other player on the roster.

Why do you have such a problem with people referring to Dragic as an All NBA player? That's what he is. He was third team All NBA last season.

because that's what he WAS... once. When you have one season at that level and have never come close to that level of play throughout your entire career, to continue to just label him as such infers that's the level of player he is and has been in perpetuity, which I think we know he's not. And those people also refer to him as an All-NBA PG, which he wasn't. They want to refer to him based on last year, why not at least be completely honest about and call him a 3rd Team All-NBAer?

People refer to Durant as MVP....because even though he may not have done anything this season he's still the reigning MVP.

Again, Durant has proven time and time again, he plays at an MVP level. Dragic hasn't. There's a GULF of difference there in both the level of award and consistent level of play between the two guys.

Dragic is a reigning All NBA player. When Mo Williams was nominated an All Star in Cleveland, Cavs fans referred him as an All Star for the next year or two because....that's what he was.

and I thought anyone who puffed their chest out about Williams using his "All-Star" credentials were just as off-base. For the same reasons. I mean, he made the All-Star ONCE, but what if someone was talking about him in terms of being an All-Star PLAYER, as if that's what his actual worth, was? Wouldn't you think it was a specious argument?

If Bledsoe got All NBA or All Defense or whatever, fans would refer to him the same way. Same with any other player on the roster.

I wouldn't... not after 1 season when the rest of his career has shown otherwise.
