Here is a hot take, I think Eric Gordon gives you 85% of what James Harden gives you at this stage of his career. Basically he can do everything Harden can except he is not as good of a passer.

Harden is living off his reputation at this point but look how much he is still going to garner in a trade compared to the Suns being able to pick up Gordon for the minimum.

I don’t think that’s a hot take. Everyone knows harden is in decline. Add into that they no longer award free throws to Harden like they used to. Harden gets more minutes and is younger.

DAMN. Took a couple days off and we got Gordon?!? Are you freaking kidding me?

Ishbia is fans dream. To me not going after Gordon before could have cost us a shot at a title. This is so huge IMO. He is a legit guard even at 34. Yes, I realize this is likely only a short window with him but he chose to come here as well. However, not having to rely as much on Cam Payne is HUGE.

Unreal.

Yep, cause and effect. If you had taken 3 days off we could have added Mason Plumlee too.

They should be anyway. The media have put Denver on some ridiculous pedestal just because they swept their holy Lakers.

I'd feel better with a reliable third center or another 4/5 that can play the position.

Wow I guess Gordon was on the verge of signing with the Warriors until the Suns swooped in. Evidently, the difference was the 2nd year player option. Golden State was unwilling to give Gordon that. Ishbia said…”no problem”.

That‘s why having an owner like Ishbia is a big deal.

Steve, that settles it. Every offseason I am going to take 2 days on, 2 days off approach. ;)

Please go on another mini vacation this week. I know it might be tough to go lay on a beach with a mai tai somewhere but please think of the fan base and not yourself. Don't be that guy. Sacrifice and take one for the team.

I think the Suns are officially done now. I don’t think they have another roster spot. I heard on one of the national shows that if one of the offseason moves was a two way contract, they would only have one roster spot left which seemingly went to Gordon.

The national guys have been highly inaccurate compared to our local guys though this offseason so there is that.

Me too. But I think the Suns are thinking what centers do you really have to have a big dude to match up with now, and it's basically just Jokic and Embid. I almost get the feeling Vogel might like the idea of playing Durant at center and playing semi small ball.

I mean it should really work with the 3 point shooting we have added, and our ability to run with that smaller lineup.

I don't know. But I don't really see much left as far as big centers. Mcgee might get released I guess.

I'd look for another player that can play center. If Ayton or Eubanks gets injured, they will need one.

That’s a pipe dream. There are no signings available that are going to move the needle against Jokic. I think the Suns know this so they are maximizing other positions so teams like the Nuggets can’t match them in other ways. Outside of trading Ayton that is a pipe dream.

Also, I wish that someone locally would confirm the Suns available roster spots. I have heard more than once now the Suns have no more roster spots available unless one of the new acquisitions was a two way contract. Now we have gotten Gordon. That would seem to indicate we are done.

I have not heard anything that confirms or denies this.

It's a pipe dream to find anyone that will stop Jokic, but it's not a pipe dream to at least find someone who is at least a speed bump.

Roster spots are real simple.

We have Todd and Wainright we can cut if we want. Otherwise all 15 are used.

Todd will be cut, possible he gets a 2 way I guess.

Nobody is going to move the needle at a Vets minimum.

Maybe you can even share your cave during the season? :)

James Jones isn't forthcoming on these things. When asked he has this standard verbiage about all those things being in house decisions, yada yada.

It would be foolish to do that. They announced KBD was going to have the opportunity to compete for a starting position.
I think most guys like Gordon, don't really care who starts. They care about who finishes. Who are the guys that play when the game is on the line. Let the young guys start, but play me when the game is on the line!

You would think. But athletes have crazy egos, the likes of which most of us can’t really comprehend.
