Just run a very long phone cable or CAT Cable to the Xbox.

Do you have a router (network) or is your computer connected directly to the DSL modem?

I have my cable modem in the bedroom but I ran a cable out to the living room to a hub so I have network/internet access out there.

You could also get a wireless adapter for the xbox and a wireless router/access point where the DSL modem is.
