love how the tipped TD pass doesn't across as fluky at all in the article.

I was running errands last night and was listening to the Giants pregame show on WFAN 660 out of New York. They were interviewing Coughlin and I gotta tell you guys that Coughlin and WFAN were giving the Cards some serious love and respect. More than once they reiterated how they were the NFC reps in the Super Bowl and how it was no fluke.

No disrespect to the Cardinals' effort...

When you start a sentence with this statement, you're about to disrespect someone.

Then again, why am I not surprised

Mike Mayock was on the Steve Czaban show this morning and they kept talking about how the Giants were injured, how the Giants blew it, etc. No credit at all to the Cardinals.

Even on the Sportscenter radio announcements, they headline that a poor performance by Manning led to a Giants loss. Over and over again all morning.

Nothing about the stellar Cardinals defense defeating the Giants. Oh no, the Giants beat themselves. That's the only thing they can get out of that game.

The Giants did make a lot of mistakes, and given that they were the favorite, at home, against a team that traditionally has played very poorly on the road, on the east coast, and in prime time--it's not surprising that this kind of reaction is going to play out in the media.

My bigger problem has been that all the pro-Yankees coverage has prevented this game from getting the attention I think it deserves :newcards:

You would expect that from the Giants fans but the National Media? Morons.

ESPN isn't really "national media", IMO. They are based in the Northeast so they pimp the Giants, Jets, Red Sox, Yankees etc. non-stop. Successful teams in the West is their worst nightmare.

Yeah it's not like we had 3 starters in our secondary out at the same time at some points in the 4th quarter. Even when AW and Rolle were in they were both playing either hurt or impaired. Boldin dragging one leg on offense etc.

Oh well, the Giants know we took it to them.

RENZ is dead-on this one....

Unless it's the 49ers, Berman & ESPN DON'T want to talk about the Cardinals! We're the "RED" elephant in the room that they hope we'll just go away. Last nite was a VERY SATISFYING WIN!! :)....And the thing I've learned over the years is that when we "lose" I can think of 5-6 reasons WHY we lost. When we WIN, I just SMILE! :) So, let the National media spin it any way they want. Personally, I luv' the whole David & Goliath-theme. Nothing better than listening to BIG-MOUTH, KNOW-IT-ALL's, struggling to find the words to say. GO CARDS! :D

As long as the Cardinals know they won, I'm fine. A lot of us penciled in the Giants and Bears games as losses. We're already wrong on one of them, and glad they're both written in pencil...

But first order of business is to prepare for the Panthers. Maybe they can hand us the game, too. ;)

You guys should just do what I do, don't watch ESPN at all unless it's MNF and don't go to ESPN.com, your lives will be a lot happier!

Well for something different from ESPN, it was nothing but love on First Take. They said our secondary is underrated and that our team, especially our defense, is better than last year

The Cards have been able to stop the run and win on the road, things that critics like to point to along with the weak division. I'm more interested in those things themselves than the fact that they silence critics. Just like the way I love watching a power back in a Cards uniform last night. I hope it all continues...

You had to know after a Cards win the line would be "What's wrong with the Giants?"

A few will be talking up the Cards. The rest will be wondering about the Giants and how they could lose at home to the Cards.

I don't really see any of Manning's interceptions as mistakes. It's not like he flat out through a bad pass on any of them. DRC and Rolle both made fantastic plays on well thrown balls taking it away from the intended receiver. And Campbell tipped a pass which he has shown the knack for doing causing the Wilson interception. None of those plays were flukes or mistakes by the Giants. The Cards forced those turnovers. Now the Bradshaw fumble was a dumb mistake.

How about they talk about that fluke touchdown they got off the ball that DRC batted into the air. Take that away and then Giants aren't even close.

There is no doubt the Giants didn't do themselves any favors. You can definitely say the Giants "helped" beat themselves. However, the other team still has to take advantage of those mistakes. The other team still has to play their game. I rarely see a team that loses on Sunday have a mistake free game.

They seem to have no problem pimping USC or the Lakers. They just always favor the big city teams.

They lost because they could not run against us and Manning did not have enough time to throw against us. Oh yes our DB's played like all pros. When we drafted Cromartie I thought he was a bad choice. How wrong I was. This young man is a real athlete and is going to only improve. That interception was really great. Looked like he was 6 feet off the ground. He has become one of my favorites. This is no longer your father's Cardinals. A new gun is in town. We somehow need to keep this defense together. Where did this guy Campbell come from. He is a terror on the field. Reminds me of Ed To-Tall-Jones.

The Saints are the real deal. Miami may have the best running game in the NFL with R. Williams and Brown. To real fast big horses who can go inside or outside. Eli is no Peyton but still has time to grow and mature into a very good QB but I doubt he will ever live up to Peyton Manning who is one of the best QB's of all time. Kurt Warner may be one of the most football smart QB's around. He can read defenses as good as anyone in football and he is a man's man when it comes to standing in and taking a hit in order to get the ball off. When he retires we are sure going to miss him. Meantime Matt has had the luxury of watching one of the best and hopefully will step in to become another Steve Young without the running ability.

IMO the Cards perform better when they're getting the Rodney Dangerfield treatment. They always seem to lay an egg after a week of media love.
