Typical. One site even moved the Broncos past us in the power rankings. Not Espn but still lack of respect.

It's the writer. He is a tool. That is our "local" ESPN writer. Believe me. Twitter bird gang gave him an earful yesterday.

I see this picture, and say "Hello, Tampa?" and laugh at ESPN's expense.

Same author too.

to me the critical injury is Ellington

if he can come back and play at a normal level in three weeks ( @ Philly) , then CJ's loss can be mitigated nearly completely

Yahoo has an article about it too but to be fair they also bring up the issues at CB depth and us having 3 DL's miss the 49er game too.

They also said that CJ has told some people he expects to play against the Rams which clearly makes no sense so must have been before the MRI.

I think the focus is on DJ but this is really the chance for Ellington to step up if he can play. He has a real chance to get his job back for the forseeable future if he can play. I know turftoe is very painful and it depends how bad it is but while I don't expect him to play against the Rams, sure would be nice to have him against the Vikings.

The Yahoo article was written by Schwab who absolutely hates us for some unknown reason. He's another who couldn't wait to dump on us.

Doesn't bother me. I don't care what others think. We're lucky were deep enough to have Ellington and David Johnson to fill in. I bet we see Williams brought back.

I'm excited to see what David Johnson can do.

CJ is a big loss IMO. If Ellington can't return to form, not so sure this article is not right. The running game has been huge for the Cards because for the first time in a long time, it's a real threat. I know there is the next guy up mentality but it's not the same. It's alot to ask a "next up" player to play up to that level over an extended period of time. I hope they are all wrong.

Yes, our OL played a stinker run blocking with Larsen... but they are also a big reason we have been able to run :)

As many have pointed out, CJ2K shelf life seemed to be expiring. I dontlike losing the depth but I am not worried about it.

Particularly because now we are forced to go with IMO physically the biggest beast on the team. Baevid Johnson!

I give much credit to our O line. Just saying it's still much to ask of a "next up" player to play at the same level of our two primary guys for any extended period of time. I hope they can.

DJ and Taylor can handle it... the fumbling is what worries me about David

Taylor can't handle jack squat. That dude sucks as a RB. He's a STer, nothing more. If anyone else is getting carries outside of DJ it should be Kerwynn who pretty much produces any time he's given the chance to.

CJ is extremely overvalued by outside 'experts.'

He has been good for us, but for the last month and change he is averaging like 2.9 yds per carry. Even early in the season when he was going great, I didn't feel like he was doing anything all that special to gain yards, the Oline was just crushing people. The injuries to the Oline are way more important than CJ.

Not dumping on the guy, I appreciate what he has given us and I LOVED the signing when it happened, but I dont think he was giving us anything we cant get out of Ellington and DJ, even Williams. He was good at picking up blitzes but as Ellington eventually showed in the Seattle game, that is really a matter of effort and willingness more often than not.

Honey Badger
Peterson
Fitz
Veldheer

All more important than CJ. I do not agree with this statement by the writer at all that this is the most important player on the team outside of Palmer, that's just silly talk.
