The San Francisco 49ers' list of needs in the 2025 NFL draft only grew during their relatively inactive free agency period. Still sitting at or near the top of the list is an offensive tackle who can potentially replace left tackle Trent Williams when Williams eventually retires.

Because of the short-term need for OL upgrades and a glaring long-term need at left tackle, it makes sense that ESPN's Matt Miller named LSU left tackle Will Campbell as his ideal NFL draft fit for San Francisco.

Via ESPN:

Addressing the offensive line and planning for 36-year-old Trent Williams' eventual retirement with Campbell would be a win-win for the 49ers' front office. Overall, hitting on picks in this draft class is imperative to reloading the roster after it was depleted through free agency.

If the 49ers are going to select an offensive lineman in the first round, it will need to be a player who can contribute right away while offering long-term solutions as well.

Campbell fits that mold. He could play either left guard or right tackle until jumping out to his natural left tackle position in the post-Williams era.

His arms are a tick short of the typically-desired 33 inches, but he has offensive tackle size at 6-6, 319 pounds. Campbell is a terrific athlete who should fit at whatever position the 49ers need on their offensive line. If he falls to No. 11, it wouldn't be a shock to hear him announced as the pick for San Francisco.
