Basically says there are rumors that Phoenix center Amare Stoudemire could be on the block because of chemistry problems. Mentions his knees and he could be risky because of that and his contract.

---------------------

Nothing that hasn't been said here already, just looks like the national media might start running with this.

They are the ones that started it... Bill Simmons and Chad Ford.. the Suns won't trade Amare because they would trade the key to their championship asipirations..

Nash + Amare is key. With either of them gone, our chances are shot.

I agree, the only thing dumber then trading Amare would be letting Nash go.

Just posted to inform those that don't have insider. As I did not see a reference already here.

I appreciate it, as we are no longer allowed to post Insider info. It is just isn't feasible to trade Amare, unless we get Oden in return.

Interesting.

With Amare & Kobe praising each other like long lost brothers, it wouldn't surprise me at all that he ends up on the Lakers. Add that to other comments & stuff like skipping the exit interview, not playing the position (4) HE thinks HE should play........?? Like I said - wouldn't surprise me.

Please...Amare is NOT going anywhere, why these silly trades keep getting tossed around is beyond me. Put it this way Amare has about as much of a chance at being traded as Steve Nash...not gonna happen!

It wasn't an exit interview, it was a get together to clean the locker rooms, D'Antoni wasnt even there.

No way, Jose. Even if he were to get traded (which is never gonna happen) it would not be to a division rival.

He has an opt-out in his contract in a couple years. I would probably throw myself off a bridge if it happened, but it is possible.

I believe it was called an "exit interview" in the AZ Republic. D'Antoni downplayed it - I wasn't aware D'Antoni wasn't there either - Are you sure about that?

Anyway, I'm not saying it WILL happen or that I think it is a good idea, all I said was it wouldn't surpise me. Amare is a very ambitious young man, playing a position he has stated he does not want to play, on a team that is refered to as Steve Nash's team in a city that is not as glamorous as LA. "Reading between the lines" on other issues, I can see that possibility.

He thinks that Kobe is the best player on the planet. How would he end up there unless we traded him. Like DeAnna said, we would not trade Amare to a division rival for any reason.

Yes, he does have an opt out in his contract, but the Suns could still offer him more money than anyone else. The main reason for players to opt out of their contract is for money. If Amare doesn't think that the Suns could win a championship, that could be another reason. I have no idea why he would think that the Lakers would be closer to winning a championship in two years, than the Suns who might have won a championship or two already by then.

Yes, D'Antoni was not there either. Amare did show up later that day to clean out of stuff out of his locker.

Then you apparently wouldn't be surprised by Martians landing in Lincoln, Nebraska on Tuesday either, because the Suns trading Amare to the Lakers has about an equal chance of happening. The Suns weight 40 years to get a dominate big man while LA continually has one and wins titles, the Suns finally get one and they are going to ship him to LA? Get real please.

These off season threads are so ridiculous sometimes.

Dude, we're Suns fans. Take nothing for granted. Once said among this group:

"Why would Dice want to go to Denver? Pssh. I'm not worried."

I hear ya. In hindsight, I'm glad he went to Denver.

I think he was discussing Amare's option at the end of '08.

My understaing of the facts of Martians not existing and the probability of picking a date and place for non-existing beings to land requires me to answer you - Yes, that would surprise me.

My understanding of Human's and business issues is why I said it wouln't surprise me if it happened. Not trying to create a stir..... Sorry if the thought upsets people. Life is too short to get your ear caught in a ringer.

So we will be trading one of the most dominating big player who is difficult to guard by majority of the teams to our arch division rival... Sweet and smart!

The media needs rumors to sell their garbage. Even if we assume that we get Oden then he won't be ready another 3-4 years to be able to lead his team deep into playoffs. And we need to win next 2 years or so before Nash's back completely gives in.
