On the day before the 2025 NFL draft, ESPN’s Peter Schrager released his one and only mock draft of the season. He has the Dolphins picking Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham at No. 13 overall, which could be a certifiable steal. Dolphins fans should be particularly interested in his projection, as Schrager's 2024 mock draft accurately predicted edge rusher Chop Robinson being the Dolphins' selection.

Graham's slide began in the mock when he was passed on by the Jacksonville Jaguars in favor of Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

The surprises really started at No. 10 where there was a mock trade between the Colts and Cincinnati Bengals, which sent tight end Colston Loveland to Indianapolis. Defensive tackle Walter Nolen went to the San Francisco 49ers at No. 11, and Alabama guard Tyler Booker went to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 12.

While the Dolphins landed Graham, they opted against several prospects in the mock who could've made sense. Cornerbacks Will Johnson and Jahdae Barron, as well as offensive linemen Kelvin Banks Jr. and Grey Zabel, were available at No. 13.

At Michigan, Graham proved to be a disruptor on the interior of the Wolverines' defensive line. He finished his career with nine sacks and 18 tackles for loss. He also tallied 108 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and three passes defended. Graham was a First-Team All-American in 2024, and a finalist for the Bednarik Award and Outland Trophy.

The potential pairing of Graham and Dolphins veteran Zach Sieler could be a potent combination in both solidifying the Miami rush defense and getting more sacks. Graham has a relentless motor and plays with a nastiness the Dolphins need in the trenches.

The Dolphins lost veteran Calais Campbell to the Arizona Cardinals in free agency and sorely need to add not just depth, but a starter on the defensive interior. A trio of Sieler, Graham, and nose tackle Benito Jones could be a fine way to start things off for the Dolphins in the 2025 NFL draft.

Should Graham slide to the Dolphins at No. 13, he'd be a logical pick, but work will still need to be done. Grier and Miami still need to address the seemingly impending departure of cornerback Jalen Ramsey, as well as add to their offensive line.
