I tried to tell everyone in the A-dub thread that I didn't think it looked that serious when it happened and even after when he was iceing it. Some time these writers send out imbellished tweets and then live to regret them. Hope that this is the case. He may be ready at the beginning of the season. We all know what a tough SOB A-dub is so I think he can play with a small tear in his muscle. Many have done it. Seeing it was not near as bad as some of the training camp injuries I have witnessed. I remember watching a broken ankle by a Rb in the Red/White game several years back that was gruesome. This seemed like it has been overblown but maybe I am wrong.

A W is a leader who wants to go out a winner, this is the year we could put a lot together and he will be important.

Yep, and I remember a linebacker had to basically freeze on his hands and knees with Marcel's leg resting on his back while Marcel screamed. Anyone remember who that LB was? I sure don't.

I'm thinking it was Dansby, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, I couldn't pull Marcels name up( old timers kicking in) but I had to hide my kids eyes because of the loud cracking sound. Had the same injury as a Sophmore in high school football in Texas so I knew immediatly what had happened. Sat in Sun Devil stadium with Marcel while he was rehabbing and he was a great guy and a really solid Rb. A-dub is cut from the same cloth and if anyone can overcome this and get on the field it is him.

The question is if Wilson gets back on the field will this injury reduce the level of play like the one last season? Of course that involved his hip so probably was harder to deal with on the field. I'm no Doctor so don't know.

Keep in mind, that Clayton's report is a re-Tweet of a re-Tweet of a Tweet.

No one knows at this point.

Precisely.

If I had to guess, I'd suspect that comments from the Cardinals - that one option available to A-Dub would be to forego surgery in favor of less-invasive therapy that would allow him to gut out the season - may have been interpreted by Clayton as meaning that "things might not be so serious." Or perhaps the actual meaning behind Clayton's remarks may have been overly-condensed "Twitter-style" to foster the wrong impression.

In terms of what the actual known facts are: (1) MRI results still aren't in so (2) we still don't know what A-Dub's actual condition is and (3) he may (or may not) consider the option of foregoing surgery and playing despite the injury.

The "win-at-all-cost" fan in me feels hopeful that, one way or another, he'll be out on the field trying to help us win. The "what's-best-for-A-Dub" fan in me is fearful that (a) he might risk further serious injury by playing or (b) as good as he is - a partially-healthy A-Dub may not be as good as a 100%-healthy Rashad Johnson.

I, therefore, at this point in time, do not feel "relieved."

This is the key, can a player who will be 32 years old in October at less than 100% help us win? It didn't help that much last season. So now he has two injuries from which to recover. Don't forget he just had surgery in March. Are we looking at another Gerald Hayes situation?

I sure hope not.

@AdamSchefter: Cardinals Pro Bowl S Adrian Wilson has a torn muscle in his bicep, but he is determined to try to play with it. Will get 2nd opinion.

We really won't know until later today(Monday) what the status is on A-Dub. Just lots of speculation. We know that he is a warrior and will want top play but at what price (in terms of future health)??

I think we need to find a short term replacement for Wilson. There is still time to bring a Vet in. We all know that Wilson is a leader and will play hurt. However I think that would hurt the team more than actually help.

If Wilson is going to have to play with one arm we really need to just throw him on IR and start looking at FA SSs.

and that was totally gruesome!!! I remember seeing Shipp's foot turned sideways...I hurt me seeing it as much as the Theismann injury years ago.

I was there also. You could hear him screaming up in the stands. It's something you will never forget.

He's doing cardio on a separate field. No sling. So there's hope!

Your right Duck, getting on the field is one thing, but how effective he can be and what level of play he can manage will have to be seen in the next 5 weeks. Just getting him out there is no good unless he is playing at a high level. All and all at his age I would rather have him available at 85% then what we have though.
