Chandler To Hornets Or Wolves?
Jul 4 - ESPN.com's Chad Ford and Marc Stein reported last night that Chicago is in trade talks with New Orleans/Oklahoma City about a deal that would send Tyson Chandler to the Hornets for P.J. Brown and J.R. Smith.Today's edition of the Daily Southtown reports the Bulls, after agreeing to a contract with Ben Wallace, are going to make another run at Kevin Garnett.
According to the newspaper, the Bulls believe they can revive the talks if they sweeten their offer to Chandler, Luol Deng and first-round draft pick Tyrus Thomas for Garnett.

Decision Day For Pryzbilla
Jul 4 - According to The Oregonian, Joel Przybilla is expected to make a decision where he will play today and it appears to be between Detroit, Portland and San Antonio.Blazers President Steve Patterson told The Oregonian late Monday that the Blazers have proposed several offers to Przybilla, including an estimated five-year, $31 million contract and have explored scenarios in which the team would give a one-year contract, with the option of signing for a more lucrative, long-term deal next season. The San Antonio Express-News reports the Spurs have been hesitant to extend any offer to the maximum five years.
"San Antonio's right up there, but I think Detroit is probably a better fit for Joel," Bill Duffy, Przybilla's agent told the newspaper. "It will be a good challenge for him. But, again, it's going to be Joel's decision."

Harrington eyes Warriors, Pacers
Jul 4 - The San Francisco Chronicle reports Al Harrington has identified Golden State and Indiana as teams for which he would like to play next season."The Warriors are definitely a viable option," Harrington's agent, Andy Miller told the newspaper. "It's a destination someone would be comfortable calling home -- dealing with a young team, obviously a very stable executive group and organization."
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Hawks have been in discussions with several teams, most prominently Indiana and Golden State, about a potential sign-and-trade deal involving Harrington.
"I have a genuine interest in both of those teams," Harrington told the newspaper. "My only focus is getting back to the playoffs and eventually competing for a championship. I thought we were getting better and heading in that direction in Atlanta, but sometimes it's time to move on."

James Taking His Time
Jul 4 - The Dallas Morning News reports the Mavericks expect to wait until perhaps next week for an answer from free agent Mike James. According to the newspaper they have offered James three years starting at the $5 million mid-level exception.Bill Duffy told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that because all the teams pursuing James are over the salary cap, a sign-and-trade scenario is a possibility. According to the newspaper the Mavs are willing to offer Marquis Daniels in such a deal, but the Raptors might not want Daniels and the $26.46 million remaining on his contract.
The Toronto Star reports that James is meeting with officials from Minnesota today, but if he is to become a member of the Timberwolves, the Raptors aren't going to facilitate the move in a sign-and-trade transaction.

Since Nazr went to the Pistons, I suppose Pryzbilla will go to the Spurs.

If the Bulls could swing that deal for Garnett, they would be disgustingly good. A lineup with Garnett, Wallace, and Thabo would be shutdown D like the Rodman, Pippen, Jordan, Harper days

I don't even want to think about it... unless the Suns could somehow get in on the action. Yes, I'm just dreaming.

The Spurs are going to have to make a major play for Pryzbilla to be even a playoff contender. However, there are a lot of teams looking for centers and he's probably the most attractive candidate on the board.

BTW, the more teams that sign free agents rather than re-sign their own guys means more teams that no longer have MLE money for other signings.

If I'm Minnesota I jump all over that, especially if that pick is the Knicks next year. Although, I would probably switch Deng or Thomas for a guard.
Minnesota is going nowhere with KG because they can't surround him with enogh talent. It's time to rebuild before KG starts declining.

LOL. Another score first point guard? Brilliant!! Marbury, Francis, Crawford, James??? That can't be true.

_________

So James is considering the MLE from Dallas?

Why arent we offering it to him then? He'd be the perfect backup for Nash, and he would get 20+mpg with us.

If Mike James excepts the MLE from Dallas and we don't even make an offer for him, then that would really suck...:(

Offer him the MLE over 4 years and beat the Mavs offer.

Mike James is a nice player and might even make it into the Suns rotation. But he's moved around for a reason. Houston had him and didn't think he was really a point guard. BC has his Bird rights but wanted TJ Ford instead.

My guess is that he will go to the Mavericks who don't care about money. It would be nice to have that luxury here, but the Suns don't.

Why would the Mavs want him? Terry and Harris. Their pg position is fine. They have plenty of depth. They just need someone who can slow down Wade.

Pryz just signed with the Blazers for 5 more years. Didn't see that coming

Wonder what the Spurs do now

Mike james for 3 years 15 million? Lets throw up something like 4 years 21 million and steal him away becuase jesus CHRIST with przy taking 31 FREAKING million :)barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: ) We could actually get mike james for a good price.

*edit I know 4 years 21 would put us over the luxury in time but with shotblockers getting 30 million nowadays we might as well take a good replacement for nash. As far as im concerned we will be able to afford him becuase looking at this current market, next year barbs asking price will be bowl wrenching high so he is good as gone.

Word is that San Antonio is listening to offers for Beno Udrih. I doubt SA would trade with us, but it might be worth investigating.

I'm thinking the opposite -- why would the Suns want to deal with SA? I can't think of anything we could give them that wouldn't end up hurting us in the long run. I don't know if Udrih for nothing improves the team, given he wouldn't be a regular rotation player -- can't shoot, can't defend.

He didn't have a great year last year, but the year before he was pretty good for them.

I was thinking more along the lines of the TE, but ok.

Didn't want to start a new thread for yet another rumor so I'll just report it here.

According to Mark Asher, the Cavs are rumored to be shopping Damon Jones. I don't know if he fits under the trade exception in terms of salary (he averages around $4 mill a year but I don't know if thats a yearly increases or a flat $4 mill a year).

What do you guys think about adding him? I think he'd be a good fit here

Not a point at all, shoots well but doesnt handle the ball very well. He also cant take anyone off the dribble, and doesnt pass particularly well. At 4mil/per, suns management will be running the other way as fast as possible.

I hadn't seen many Cavs games so I didn't know that. I guess he wouldn't be a good addition then.
