Good to see he got banned. If you are not frustrated with the last 4 weeks then check for a pulse. Yesterday was horrific. Last week was horrific, and Thanksgiving was horrific. They were like the old Coach McGinnis teams. All three of these games were over by halftime, and two of the three were over within 10 the first ten minutes of the game!!!

I HATE when I don't get a football game to watch on the weak end. And yes, watching your team bleed to death for 3 1/2 quarters. is NOT watching a football game

But lets not get too crazy here.....

When it comes to the Cardinals (and I have been saying this since the Jets game) they are as bad as they played against the Jets, and as good as they played against the Cowboys.

I think the Cardinals deserve to go to the playoffs. They are good enough to play with, and win against the lower level teams going into the playoffs. The Cardinals are going to be playing during Wild Card weekend and there record and team level is on par with that. Of course many will spit this fact back in my face after we have been blown out in 3 out of our last 4 games but the Cardinals won some big games in the beginning of the season to get them here.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, the Cardinals had an easy schedule but there are many playoff teams that have played 5 or 6 games against some really bad teams so save me that B.S.

I don't care what the circumstances. If the Cardinals win this upcoming weekend they will have swept their division. Say what you will, but a divisional game in the NFL is a divisional game in the NFL. Sweeping the division is something to hang our hats on.

As for ESPN, they can KISS MY ARSE.

Waaahhhh. We need the playoffs setup to change because the Cowboys and Patriots are not in the playoffs WAAAAAAHHHH.

Just because ESPN and the rest of the talking heads are worried about having a lack of arses to lay their lips is not my problem. If the Pats or the Cowboys were in our position they wouldn't have a gripe about the situation, I garauntee it.

If the Cowboys were so good they would let up two 70+ runs this weekend to stay in the playoff, if they were so good they should have beat the Rams. If the Patriots were so good they should have won games against the Jets, and Miami. And a sidenote: Where was this cry for injustice when the Pats were slaughtering the then putrid AFC East last year ?

The Cardinals are going to the playoffs. This league is set up by division and it ain't gonna change. Just because we are the Cardinals doesn't prevent us from getting what was earned.

The Cardinals won the NFC West and I'm not apologizing for it. They did what they had to do. It's not the Cardinals fault that other teams didn't take care of business.

See everyone in the playoffs!

I hope the Pats go 11-5 and miss the playoffs, it doesnt get much better than seeing Bellichek whine. Well it does e.g., the Cowpies out of the playoffs would be better. WThe rules have not changed - win your Division and you host a playoff game. The alternative is to create one big league (like foreign soccer) and take the top 12 teams. Not gonna happen.

The playoffs aren't "going to be looked at". The divisional format was put in place so that the league could continue the historical rivalries of Bears/Packers, Steelers/Browns, Broncos/Chiefs etc.

ESPN and whoever can talk about it all they want, but the NFL isn't going to change anything. Situations like this pop up from time-to-time, like the 8-8 Browns winning the AFC Central in 1985. Heck, the Chargers might get in at 8-8 this year also. No system is perfect.

The NFL clearly needs to follow the leadership of the NCAA and come up with a bowl system where sports writers and news groups like ESPN could influence and dictate who gets to play in the post season. I just think it would work so much better. No one has ever complained about that system because its obviously perfect.

I like the idea of selecting the top teams... the playoffs will be really interesting then with higher level of competition.

And yes, there is a big difference between a 10-6 and an 8-8 team. Especially if that 8-8 team is in the worst division getting the record by virtue of beating the crappy teams in that division.

Didnt every 9-5 team in the AFC East have benefit of playing every crap ass team in the NFC West this season? Isnt that maybe why the Jets and Dolphins are apparently so competitive this year? They got a gimme schedule of non conference foes?

Of all teams to use as an example of why the playoff system would need to change, New England has to be the worst. Last year, when they were kicking the Redskins while they were down, Bellichick was taking the attitude of "it's their job to stop us, not mine."

Every team that wins their own division gets to go to the playoffs. And just in case all the power is located in a single division, they even let two more teams from each conference go. If New England misses the playoffs, it will only be because they were not the best team in their division, and they weren't the best team that did not win their division, and they weren't the second best team that did not win their division.

If they wanted to make the playoffs, they should have played better.

Sure... but they play on 4 games inter division whereas within division its 6 games - advantage NFC West! ;)

hey, guys. Everyone has a little ESPN from time to time. You just flush it away, take some Pepto and hope you feel better later.

I don't think we've had an easy schedule despite the weak division since 9 of our 16 games were against teams .500 or better and 7 are at least 4 games over .500.

There have been a couple of threads about teams that came back from a slow finish to do well in the playoffs but we've all forgotten one of the weaker teams to ever make the playoffs. The 1998 Cardinals. Everyone outside of the hard core AZ fans thought that bunch would go one and done and we all know how that turned out.
