Arians has stated that Shipley will be the starter so he must be underwhelming so far but that is to be expected.

Word is, he is doing what most rookie centers do, trying to learn the system, and get used to being manhandled by grown professional athletes.

So, progressing as normal.

So basically he's having the same thing done to him as Shipley is as a multi year veteran...COUGH COUCH (we did sign Sendlein back for a reason) :)

Max Starks talked about it a little bit the other day on the radio. Sounds like he's learning the system and adjusting to the level of competition, and AQ is doing well with the exception of still needing to make sure he stays even keel in hurry up situations so snaps aren't dropped.

Basically. It is only a week into camp, so there is plenty of time for things to change.

The silence is deafening so far. Sounds like Earl Watford is getting snaps. The idea of Boehm starting week one seems unlikely.

BA said today that he was going to give Earl Watford many reps at center this week---what this likely means is that A.Q. Shipley is the starter and they need to make sure Earl Watford can play center so that he can be one of the 7 OL they activate on game days. If Watford passes the test at center then they #7 guy they activate can be a combo tackle/guard guy like McClain or Toner.

It's still early but it seems BA is going to be patient with Boehm the way he was patient with Humphries. The offense takes time to learn, as we well know.

The analysis I heard is that every d-lineman that lines up against Boehm knows to attack his snapping hand/arm because they know his technique is terrible right now and it's basically easy pickens. He is getting worked over by #2s and #3s pretty regularly.

That and he appears to be a little light in the ass currently.

Obviously you never know how things will play out, but another redshirt rookie season wouldn't surprise me.

Center is the most important part of the line since they make all of the line calls. All the more reason to let him learn the offense first.

I just heard an interview with Watford where he said that in addition to the reps at C he is now getting, he was also asked/told to practice long-snapping which he has been doing the past couple weeks.

The guy sure is making himself more and more valuable to the team.

Left Tackle is still the most important position on the offensive line. I agree that center is underrated, but there is no doubt that the tackle positions are the most important.

If he needs it, he needs it. He doesn't have the pressure of being a top pick on his shoulders, so this would be acceptable.
