EVEN w/o injury it should be Skelton time.

So, If Skelton struggles......who ya gonna blame?

The same guy I blamed once Leinart, Anderson, Hall, Skelton, Bartel and now Kolb all struggled.

Either CKW's system is bad or they've picked up 7 pitiful QBs. (don't forget CKW thought Brian St.Pierre would make a solid #2 QB)

Now to be fair if you look at what QBs have been available starting in 2008 there just hasn't been much of anything available to the Cards.

BINGO!

Im so tired of hearing about how bad Kolb is. How many starts has he had in this league? Not how many years has he been in this league. The guy has had 7 starts with this offense.

He moved ahead of him a couple of weeks ago for whatever reason.

My guess is Whiz saw Bartel against Minn and realize he's just not that good. He had 1 pick and could have easily had 2 more, he just doesn't seem to get throwing into coverage is a bad idea usually.

Skelton is at least more safe with the ball

[sarcasm]Bartel has the greater moxie, which is why he's so valuable to us.[/sarcasm]

It's not an either or thing really at least for me.

When a season goes in the dumper, and believe me I'm very practiced at this, then you look for the little things, hoping to find a gem in a turd.

Do you often find one?

No, no you don't but there's always that chance and that's why people want to see Skelton because Kolb frankly isn't digging his way out to shine out from the turd and no one likes just a gemless turd.

I have very low expectations for Sketlon but I have as of now even lower expectations out of Kolb.

Kolb is always free to turn this around, I wish he would, until then, bring on the QB circus, cause the season is done.

Yet Skelton as a rookie had 4 and many say he is no good. Shouldn't he also be given more time.

Part of the reason Sketlon had low YPA and completion %, granted his accuracy was not great, was because he actually threw the ball away when he get on trouble and didnt take an idiotic sack.

Skelton avoided turnovers, 2 picks and 0 fumbles lost in 4 starts, and didnt take killer sacks, if our current QB were half as good in those areas would have won yesterday, against the Giants and the Skins.

Sure but the difference is nobody brought Skelton in with the idea he'd start 4 games. He was the 4th best QB in camp that year the Cards dumped Leinart and decided to go with Anderson. Only have Anderson and Hall both proved they weren't the answer did Skelton play.

Kolb WAS brought in to start and as bad as he's been at times, yesterday was the first game he didn't get at least 200 yards passing, Skelton never did it once and Kolb is averaging roughly 90 yards more passing a game than Skelton did last year in his 4 starts.

If Skelton had a great preseason it would be different but he didn't.

He might have a future but he's quite raw.

I'd love to see him come out and fire the ball all over the field against the Rams but so far we haven't seen it from him.

Sketlon played well during the 1st preseason game... got injured in the 2nd one and missed the rest with the injury. The only reason Bartel was ever higher on the chart was because Skelton had been out.

I think a major problem is that our recievers never seem to get any separation. I watch a lot of football and often see recievers either wide open or atleast have a step or two on their defender. It happens often when our CB's are covering someobe. I never see that from anyone wearing a red jersey.

As was just mentioned he was hurt in preseason. He also never had all of the first team practice time. Kolb has been bad in every game other than the Carolina game in my opinion. He hasn't gotten better at all. He is not a rookie like Skelton was either. Particularly considering Skelton went to Fordham which is a huge adjustment. He also didn't have the running game Kolb has had. Not saying he is the answer but I see nothing in Kolb that convinces me he is the answer either.

People do realize Kolb is averaging a full 2.25 yards more per attempt this year than Skelton did last year? If Kolb is Mr. Checkdown what was Skelton?

Some of that is when you complete less than 48% your YPA sucks but the fact is Skelton made very few big plays last year.

He's young and should get better but he's exactly the kind of kid people are saying doesn't do well under Whiz because he's a project, he's very inaccurate quite mechanical and very unpolished. If Whiz can screw up Leinart and Kolb what do you think he'll do to a guy like Skelton?
At this point I don't care about YPA. In fact, I strongly believe Kolb's YPA are greatly ballooned by run after catch by Fitz, Doucet, King, and LSH. How many downfield attempts do you see Kolb make?

Moreover, he won't consistently give up 17-18 yards in sacks. Also, I thought Skelton's mechanics were better than Kolbs. His footwork, throwing motion, etc. His pocket presence was much better. Sure he made mistakes but he was a rookie with no practice with first unit until his first start.

If Kolbs money would have been spent on upgrades at positions of need and Skelton started every game thus far....

I bet we would have more wins. Maybe not many more, but more nonetheless.

I dunno. It appears to me that Whiz has already lost whatever it was that made him draft Skelton in the first place. If you're not going to develop the guy, why the hell did you draft him in the first place? Or was it just another QB mistake in a long line of them and Skeltons just got nuthin.

We would still be trying to microwave some beef wellington starting Skelton, who missed reps because of a shwag late hit. But then again he is the kind of brainsmart that can probably soak up some film more than others can. But with our playcall and O-line, I'd rather leave him on the shelf until we get some things figured out, or we will just add him to the list.

I think he's already been added to that list.
