Here's Darren Urban's (of the East Valley Tribune) take on which players are on the bubble, entering tonight's game:

QB
IN: Blake, McCown, Parsons

BUBBLE: Scobey, Prentice, Rue

WR
IN: Gilmore, McAddley, Foster, Johnson, Boldin
BUBBLE: Kasper, Poole

TE
IN: Jones, Bush
BUBBLE: Diamond, Banks

OL
IN: Shelton, Clement, Kendall, Davis, Spikes, Dishman, Wells, Starkey, Garcia*, Roundtree**
BUBBLE: Grace, Rogers, Wragge

DL
IN: Pace, Bell, Davis, Wakefield, Bryant, Tanner, King
BUBBLE: Johnson, Moore, Aton

LB
IN: Thompson, McKinnon, Woods, Fisher, Darling, Hayes
BUBBLE: Young, Gilbert, Burton

DB
IN: Barrett, Wilson, Jackson, Rhinehart, Stone, Lucas, Hill
BUBBLE: Eason, Harris, Nelson

K/P
IN: Player, Hodel
BUBBLE: Gramatica, Duncan

*suspended first 4 weeks, does not count toward 53
**non-football injury, does not count toward 53

The only surprise for me was seeing Michael Stone listed as "in" for the DBs. I thought Stone, after his showing in camp and the preseason, was on his way out of town.

I see two surprises----McAddley being in while Kasper is on the bubble and as WC said, Stone being in and Eason on the bubble. Eason has performed much better than Stone in the pre-season. I assume he feels McAddley is a lock because of "potential" but if the Cards cut Kasper and keep McAddley, I will be seriously worried about Sullivans judgement. The pre-season is what's supposed to determine who stays and who goes. Keeping McAddley would say that regardless of what happens in pre-season, the WR roster is pre-determined. Not something I would be comfortable with.

Keep in mind that often times if you have a "bubble" list, it means that those players on the list are fighting for the last spot. Which means that Kasper & poole are fighting for the 6th WR spot, so more likely I think kasper then Poole. Now mind you I dont know why it wouldnt be McAddley and Poole on the bubble with McAddley having the edge, but thats just me.

To me, part of the reason there are surprise cuts is that people like Urban come out with these lists and one of the people he thinks is in gets cut because there are more people on the bubble than he realizes.

I am not saying that these cut lists should not be made, but take them with a grain of salt.

We should be able to get a good read on who is really on the bubble by who is on the field in the 2nd quarter.

If one each of the bubble gum guys is kept that would make 53, assumming Garcia and Roundtree are active. I hope they find a place for Joshua!
