Due to a lack of salary cap space, the Atlanta Falcons have lost a handful of players since the start of the 2025 NFL free agency period. On Tuesday, former Falcons linebacker Nate Landman agreed to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams.

Landman, 26, made Atlanta's 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent in 2022. Over the last three seasons, the former Colorado standout has appeared in 36 games with 23 starts. Landman's best year came in 2023 when he started 14 games and recorded 110 tackles (66 solo), three forced fumbles, two sacks and one interception.

Landman was a restricted free agent but the Falcons declined his tender for a reported $3.26 million. Once they passed on tendering the veteran linebacker, it was clear his NFL career would have to continue elsewhere. Now, he joins a talented Rams defense in Los Angeles with another chance to prove himself.

Atlanta drafted linebacker Troy Andersen in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft, the same year the team signed Landman as an undrafted free agent. When Andersen went down with injuries, Landman made the most of his opportunity.

The Falcons signed veteran linebacker Divine Deablo, who should compete for a starting job next season. Aside from Landman, the team has yet to re-sign Matthew Judon, Lorenzo Carter, Dee Alford, Justin Simmons, and handful of others.
