the Cards MUST hit on this draft....there can't be any excuses...they have had so many picks the last few years fail to a damn thing in positions where other teams are finding starters....

no more Buster Davis', Blackstocks, Arringtons, Brandon Johnsons, (giving up a 4th rounder to get Branch when you already have a starting NT, especially when Poz could have been taken)

the playoff teams turn these selections into starters that replace guys that leave to break the bank in FA....AZ has to start hitting on these picks

Well it's always clear in hindsight but...

it sure would have been good to get Poz in the second then select a back-up NT in the third round last year.

Then again very few rookie DT's have impact, so there should still be plenty of upside to Branch yet to come.

Also watch for Gabe Watson to improve still more this season. He will be a force to reckon with in the middle of the Cards D, this year. It won't translate to tackles and sacks for Gabe himself, but for everyone around him.

Very good Article.

Only one major disagreement. I would probably never take a safety in with a top 10 pick. Sure teams have selected safeties recently and they have performed well. I just don't think the Value is there for picking a safety that high.

In the first round I want the Cards to highest ranked player out of one of the following positions: (OT, DE, CB, OLB). That is where I believe they will get the most value.
