Blake sucks, he is worse than Jake. Ciao toEmmitt and Mac - go away!!!!! Add Greene, Horner, and Gramatica to the going away party. Start McCown vs. the Niners. Pathetic - I have been a fan for 45 years and this is absolutly the worst it has ever been (and you know the history!!!!

God I'm with you. It's been 43 years for me and I can't think of a time they've been as bad, or as hopeless. I thought it was just me. If they have the old timers like us pissed off, that says a lot now doesn't it?

Not really.

Especially considering who the self proclaimed "old-timers" are.

I have been watching them since 1945 and this is the worst performing team I have ever seen put on the field. We are in such a hole I do not know where you even start. We would be better off to be an expansion team and start all over.

Tango shouldn't you be back at the stadium gathering up the finely ground shreds of your last ounce of credibility?

I consider myself an old timer, though I am not forty yet.

old timers are carryovers from the stl days. any pre-move (pre stl to phoneix) fans are old timers in my book. anybody holding out from the chicago days needs to go into the NFL fans' hall-of-fame.

I personally have been pulling for the cards for 25 years.

We're all in the position of the guy who hits himself in the head with a hammer because it feels so good when he stops. Problem is we're still hitting ourselves!

I consider myself an old timer, class of 74, and this year I'm simply numb. The losses aren't ticking me off, I just tune into NFL Sunday ticket and hope for a good game.

As a fan since 1962, I also believe this team is in the worst state of disarray of any team in that time frame. This started last year and has continued through all of the changes and additions to the personnel this year. There is no accountability on this team and the most frustrating thing is the fact that each week they find a different way to loose. The talent level is not the best, but it is on a par with at least 12 other teams in the NFL and with the easy schedule, they should be at least 3 and 3.

This team needs to make some major changes over the bye week and do something to wake these players up. There is no spark on this team. It sputters, plays great, and then sputters again. No consistency.

That's why I blame the coaches. They ARE as bad as any other of the bad teams in this league, yet they play much more ineptly. That is the fault of the staff which obviously can't get them ready to play at an exceptable NFL level. McGinnis and his whole staff has to go before they ruin everyone of the players on the roster.

Well partner I am certainly qualified for the Hall of Fame. I am still wondering where the Dream Backfield went. I still remember the Cards beating the Bears at Wrigley Field. If I could be a fan of another team I would but my brain does not work like that. I am cursed to be a Cards fan until death do us part. One of my lifes goals may be met this weekend and that is the Cubs may make it to the World Series. I thought the Cards had a better chance than the Cubs but time has proved me wrong. The Cubs changed owners.

Yea things are bad now but this team has some good talent. There will be some good times ahead. As for this year being the worst. I'm sorry fellas but I have seen worse. This team still has a chance to turn things around somewhat this year. I'm not saying we're going to the playoffs but if the turnovers ever stop this team can win. I thought we out played Baltimore and would have won if not for Blakes interceptions.

As for Tango,man, tough crowd.:)

Ain't it though Snakester?

You do bring up a couple of good points.

What really cracks me up, is here I am, older than at least some of these "old timers"........(I'll be 57 in about a month)....though I don't think all . . . and it just cracks me up how they make themselves sound like father time or something. I guess its all a matter of perspective, but I look at myself as 56 years YOUNG, the years pass fast enough now, without me mentally speeding the process even more.

I admit, I didn't start being a Card fan until they moved to Arizona.
But, like you, I can remember, some times just in that time frame that were A LOT worse than what we are seing now. So it really makes me wonder how "old timers" deem the present so terrible????

Were some of you old whiz-bangs nodding off at times along the way? LOL. There sure does appear to be some memory gaps here.

:D

I am also an old timer and I have definetly seen worse. Great post Snake. Lets just stop the turnovers and take a few baby steps. We are still the youngst team in the NFL, we are still in the infant stage.

This is the worst they have looked as far as I know. 15th year here. But very close to last year, and I think '94 when the went 4-0 only to end up 5-11.

But I still believe the talent level is above what we see.

We are -14 in turnovers....Yes good players don't necessarily turn the ball over, and bad ones do, but we've got a bunch of bad breaks above and beyond our bad play (a lot of big hits).

Every week it has been something. Last week it was int return and a blocked field goal.

We've already had a two safety game, etc, etc, etc.

We've got some good core young talent, lets not forget that. But unfortunately we've got plenty of guys who shouldn't be on the team or maybe any nfl roster.

I have to believe we've got all these guys to find out who we should keep and who to let go. Play 10 young guys, find 3 to keep and jettison the rest type mentality. But maybe this is wishful thinking.

Hopefully if next year we can get a good athletic guard who still manages to blow people off the line because he has good feet, a pass rusher or three, and a good-great cover corner, and one more good wr I think we'll be alot better. Of course if any team adds the above they should probably be a good team as well.

But we need a pass rush like aunt jemima needs pancakes.

As for this season

Hopefully we can pull off a couple of upsets like we did w/ GB, and take care of cinci and the bears. If you look at how the nfl's weight has shifted, our so-called easy schedule has gotten a whole lot harder.

Vikings, Panthers, and Seahawks oh my. What a way to end the season.

I was so wrong when I thought we might get some pass rush this season, or at least better than last year. But we finally got a sack by our dl....woo hoo. I'll take 5-11 or 6-10 and be happy now.

Can you not remember the 3-13 Tobin/McGinnis season? The 4-12 Buddy season? Those two years were worse. This season may yet get there, but it's not quite that bad right now.

You're right, but those worse parts came at the end....

We've basically sucked from the beginning and it does have the potential to end that way when you see that we have to play probably the top 3 teams (3 of top five so far anyways)in the league to finish out the season...vikings, panthers, seahawks.

It may yet get worse, hopefully not.

But this is definately the worst beginning I've ever seen, thats a little more accurate and correct.

The worst collapse were the '91 or '94 team????(or both) under bugel...4-0 to start 5-11 to finish...which is 1-11 to finish.

Anyway you slice it I've seen far too much ugly football in my day and I'm only 25.

Before we all jump off a cliff lets look and see a few positives. How about Anquan Boldin? Is he good or what. possibly Rookie of the Year and at least a future pro-bowler. Shipp looks good and the team is trying to sign players before the season is over. A new facility is in our future. So while I'm resigned to a season in the toilet there are a few things I'm satisfied with.
